Supernatural EMF detector

Update:

Here is the first sound test for the EMF detector. Everything is working more or less in sync, I am testing the sound here, also waiting for a better speaker. I think it sounds a tiny bit higher in the video than it actually is here in front of me. I am just running a loop of sound, trying to get the right pitch/timing etc. Any comments would help greatly with the tweaking.

Here is the link to see and hear it on YouTube: First sound test v2 - YouTube

The LEDs are clear and then red when lit. My camera doesn't show the colours very well. Still a work in progress, but coming along. Also waiting for some hardware bits to come in the mail.

:D

sounding good, it does seem to be a tad higher pitched, but you already said it sounds lower in person, I think it'll be tricky for the lows and highs tones, plus the actual speed of the tone. I really have high hopes for this project.Found this on youtube..just thought it would be appropriate to post..lol GHOSTFACERS

That looks and sounds brilliant! :) Watched an episode last night (catching up on season 8) where sam used the EMF. Caught myself grinning.

When I saw your breadboard I thought "That looks familiar" :)
(red LEDs for testing only)

Is that your breadboard? My boards usually get so messy they look like spaghetti. I cleaned the EMF one up before I posted it here.

NICE. :D

Update... trying out some parts, waiting for a few more. One can see why there is a black strip on the actual prop (electrical tape?) along the top under the wires, below the LEDs. It's hiding the numbers near to top left.

Pretty cool to see what's underneath. Build is looking good. :thumbsup

Update... waiting for the clear clips for the antenna to come in the mail. Who would have thought they would be such a problem... :angry

Hi,

I've got the sound, LEDs and meter working together, now I am focusing on building the thing. Then, once it is all together, I will do the final tweaking until it is just right. :)

Update... antenna clips arrived today! Testing them out on my spare board. They look pretty good.

I found a pretty good possibility for the EMF gauge.

Even the blue matches...

I also think that the POT (in yellow in first pic below) on the EMF may be scavenged from the multi meter they used to make the gauge as evidenced by this similar one I found in my own local searches (in red in the second picture below.)

Hey, that does look really close to the ones I have. Mine are black though. I never got the feeling from the screen grabs I have that the top is blue, not black but your photo makes a good case for it.

They have made several versions of the gizmo, I wonder if there is variation in the colour of the meter part they used. Maybe they used both black and blue versions.

Which episode is your screen grab from? I'll have a look on Bluray.

Great find! :$
