Supernatural 1967 Impala Conversion

Bumper guards in excellent condition, including rubbers can easily fetch $500 for a pair. Even average ones sell for $300.

That floor would throw up some major red flags for me.
I know seeing rust like that on an old muscle car, is a lot different than seeing rust like that on a car that's only say 20 years old, but still, it's something that should make you be very aware of what you're buying. If the floor has rusted out that bad, what else might be rusted out, parts that might not be as visible, inner wheel wells, check the trunk around the wheel wells and places like that, basically as many nooks and crannies as you can peak into with a flashlight.

That's what I was thinking/afraid of. Just going to have to keep looking. BTW, that was the one in Indy that is now on ebay for anyone who looks.

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's only a parts car.
Floor pans can be replaced, people do it all the time, it can be costly yes, but if you have connections and know someone who could cut you a deal on the work, and if you can get the car at enough of a bargain, I'd say it's worth while. Of course that's only if the floor is the worse part of the car, the point I was trying to make is just that if the floor is that bad, you'll really want to check over every inch of the car that you possibly can. But 9 times out of 10, if the floor has gotten that bad, chances are quite a few other spots have as well.

Haha, may be a little more saving than I've time for. Keeping my eye out for something more manageable....I'm a new hunter. ;)

Listen man, from someone who blew stupid cash on a crap caprice and then found out it was going to be like 20k to get it close to where I wanted, then buying a donor impala, stripping it then finally finally!!!! Finding a Factory AC Caprice with little to know body work needed with 23k miles on it. Sold the other two I had kept all the parts for the conversion. I am so glad I waited for the better one. I only paid 4250 for it. Stay patient. Unless you are a good mechanic, body guy, upholster, and painter all by yourself don't buy a crap one. Of course if you are rich then by all means buy one and drop it off to a restore place and pick it up nice a shiny, lol

Found another. 44k miles; 350 with some mild mods. Cam and such, new shocks, new disk brakes. Minimal rust, clean title, repainted, but I will change that anyhow. Already a tan interior. asking $3750. It's about 8 hours away...he says I could drive it back, I'm a little leery of that. lol Thoughts?

Whoever did that paint job should never be let around a car again lol It's awful, looks like it was sprayed with spray cans or cheap Tremclad. Actually I think it is Tremclad, I painted a derby car with Tremclad blue and it turned out identical to that. Absolutely terrible paint job.

Other than that, looks like a great deal for the price, you'd be crazy not too get it IMO.

Yeah lol. The paint will be gone. Thankfully they were lazy enough to just spray the outside, not even the door jambs and underside of trunklid. haha Thanks for the input, now just to come up with the cash quick.

Anyone here looking for:

5x115 18" Rims

Gucci Wallet Brand New

or a 160GB PS3 slim?

:D

Especially if you compare it to this one:

1967 Chevy Impala

Lol I emailed the guy in Chicago...haven't heard back. Asked for details, but his price is high. Im worries about hw much bondo is under the paint on that MN one. Especially since it's 8 hrs away. :/

If you're ever worried about bondo on an older car like this, or anything really, bring a magnet with you to run over the car.

Wow, great shots all around. I can't wait to go scrounging for one. Planning a restoration/conversion for my wife.

Thanks for sharing, everyone.

Right. Problem is I don't have time to drive 16 hours to drive out there just to run a magnet over it and see it's a POS, you know? I can make a trip down to Chicago no problem and get delicious pizza whether it works out or not. :)

Donmateo, Do you want me to take a look at it for you? That impala is practically in my back yard. Don't worry, I already my impala. Don't need another one. Let me know..

Donmateo, I meant to say I already have my impala I can take a look at it. It's practically in my backyard.
