A nice treat for my 40th birthday today. I got to visit this bad boy.

Yes that's THE top of THE actual movie prop from Superman the Movie.

Yup..garden decoration now. The guy who owned the farm during filming was left this piece.

Great find buddy!!!!! Kind of sad that it is just being left outside to rott. And here's a pic of me with the rest of the ship taken at the London Film Museum last Thursday. By the look of it I kinda thought it was used in the barn scene. As you can see in the pic the underside of the ship was missing with some wires vissable that lit up the inside of the ship. One very proud geeky moment for me!!!

That ship was the one from Superman IV (where they rebuilt the house and barn). Also very cool and in MUCH better shape for sure.

Ah, thanks for that. I did just watch Superman The Movie just to compare it and I did think it looked a little different. Needless to say I feel I might have to try and build a replica some time in the not too distant future. Cheers dude
