Superman The Movie - Custom 3.75 inch action figure project and Palitoy / Kenner cardbacks *FULLY PAINTED PHOTOS*

Work will start on the Reeve figure this week / early next week. I won't be creating new 3d figures for every character that I've done cardbacks for. Some will use figures that have already been made.
Here's the latest collage of cardbacks which now include Robin and Wonder Woman.

My sincerest apologies for any clumsiness of the question I asked in post #56. The way I had asked the question left it open for misinterpretation that I had not read the thread. The new cardbacks being introduced for new characters just had me thinking that maybe you had already completed the Superman figure to its final like-ness to Christopher Reeve. I should have asked that question more clearly, and I apologize to you and to Moviefreak for the misunderstanding. I really love this thread and I apologize for any damper I may have put on it. Moving forward, I am eagerly staying tuned in to see how the final Superman figure turns out. All the cardbacks look great!

WW looks great! Robin needs a more dynamic photo, he’s so bouncy! [emoji38]

hi can I ask were you got your artwork printed as I am thinking of doing something similar for my old
loose star wars figures

You can order Star Wars repro cards from Beggars Canyon Toys. They have cards for all the toy lines, and the quality of is spot on to the originals... with one small difference... a small “reproduction” written on back so there is no confusion or chance of scamming collectors. Each kit comes with a card and bubble. I ordered a set of Star Wars and GI Joe cards and love them.

Updated Robin's photo and the logo on Wonder Woman's card and found an alternate photo.
What do you think?

Loving this project! The second, darker version of WW if my choice. The Robin pic is definitely better, but I'm love something where he's hitting his fist into his palm. But man, I LOVE THESE!

If you can find any decent photos of Robin punching his fists, please post them up. I trawled through google for a couple of hours and couldn't find anything. I'm a sucker for how beautiful Lynda Carter looks in the lighter blue background photo, but agree that the darker blue version probably fits in better with the others. I also added some subtle spider web on the top of Spidey's card as I thought it looked a bit plain. If the Star Wars cards can have the starfield, I don't see why it wouldn't be plausible that they would have added something onto the other cards at the top.

more here plus a fist in palm shot

This was the most perfect photo of Batman for the card, but I can only find one version of it on google and it's really low resolution. so when I bring it into the 300 pixels/inch artwork templates, it looks so grainy and blurred that it can't be used, If anyone knows where this photo came from (book / lobby card / magazine etc), I would LOVE to use this on the final card. I've typed in the "Bettmann/Corbis" credit on the bottom of the photo, but no better quality photos can be found. Here's an early version of the card (before I decided to keep all the backgrounds in black for consistency).

I could do some PS work on the pic to make it fit.

Thanks very much for the offer but it's not the fact that it doesn't fit at the moment which is the problem. It's the fact that the only version of this photo I can find is small and when it's scaled up to fit into the card artwork, it looks awful. Really grainy and low resolution. I can't see any way of improving this unless a better quality version of that photo can be found. I've not found it anywhere yet.

Yes, that's the one I've got. When it's scaled up to fit into the 300 pixels/inch artwork, it's really low resolution, grainy quality so can't be used.

from Holy moolah, Batman! Man who paid $1 for the original Batmobile sells it at auction $4.6M

Go and get the free 30 day trial of Topaz Gigapixel AI. You don’t need to agree to anything further and once it expires, it expires. It will allow you to upscale photos and with the AI technology, it preserves quality. Give it a try. I did... and I liked it so much I paid the $100 to buy it.

This is great! Thanks Moviefreak. I've already saved 6 of the photos that I was using on the cards and they are now better quality which means the end result will be improved. Thanks again.

Thanks to Moviefreak's recommendation of that Topaz Gigapixel AI software, I've now upgraded several of the images on my card artwork and have finally been able to use that great photo of Batman on the card without it looking too blurry and low quality.
