Superman Returns - opening Deleted scene - Return to Krypton

A friend of mine has re-edited the film to focus more on Superman than on Luthor. He has included the return to Krypton sequence.

He has tweaked a few things, cut a few campy things, etc. My favorite is the scene with Luthor on the island with the helicopter is now after the closing credits. A nice touch. I prefer this version to the theatrical/dvd release.

The sequel to this where Supes had to battle his own son (and hoardes of Brainiac clones) who gets his power from New Krypton would have been cool..and a new direction. I liked the son storyline and it would have been better once we saw him have to defeat his son (the final Brainiac host).

Very nice and good made but PLEASE don't use the Wilhelm scream...

"but why else would he not do a commentary for this film he poured so much work into?"

He did. But Singer got quite a bit of flack for it. For instance, he noted the WB Superman franchise was now a world wide franchise, so Superman cannot be for the American way any longer. It was one of the reasons he showed Superman flying around the world at the beginning of the film to show he needed to be non political in any manner or favoritism towards the US.

It was such a off statement given the origination of the story and the character growing up in the heartland of America.
He expanded on the story line as well, but most people questioned his stalking Lois and Superman having a son. I don't think Singer likes to discuss such as in retrospect it was just insane to do what he did to the story line and character.

That's a terrible idea - did that really make it to paper? If so I have to make a call today and get me a copy.
