Superman: Legacy

Okay I am joining the petty squad. I do like the new suit, but the underoos, which I am very glad returned, do need to fit better. The suit looks real good here except for that.

Apologize if it's been mentioned before, but I think Gunn has a thing for utilitarian outfits, Guardians of The Galaxy (especially number 3) being a great example. More function than form. It's not a bad thing, but it doesn't work in every single situation.

Utilitarian up-close is fine. But it's important to remember that the whole purpose of the costume is to be a billboard. Advertising is not big on destaturated colors and logos that are hard to identify.

In the case of Supes it doesn't really even have a utilitarian use. It only has to hold itself together through his antics. His own body is tougher than any joint pads or leather he could wear.

Supes would probably be more combat-effective by going naked. Or maybe some gym shorts. Just enough to protect the rest of us from his super-dong and butt cheeks.

Thanks for making me have to look up what utilitarian means

I think revealing the suit in that first picture of him sitting down was a huge mistake. They should've introduced it with Supes in a traditional superhero pose. Seeing these set pics, I do like some aspects of the suit. I think the colors are spot on, the emblem looks great, the cape is gorgeous, and the collar works which I wasn't sure that it would. What I don't like is of course the poor fit, material, and the overuse of the groove lines all over the suit.

The suit has a nice aesthetic from a distance. It's when you get up close to it that I think it doesn't look as good. Really, I don't think the costume needs a complete overhaul. Just some tweaks and it would look fantastic. It's a more formal interpretation of Superman's costume which I think would look really cool if done right.

Also, Guy Gardner's suit looks lame. It's just a moto jacket and pants. The picture kalkamel posted looks way better.

Is it just me, or does it look like the suit is made out of denim? I KNOW it's not, but boy... that look...

In the distant shots it does kind of read like denim. Maybe the cape is gabardine like the Reeve cape.

I agree. Thought the same when I watched the first one last night. Looks like Fan edits.
Facial overlays of new actors over others from Returns and MOS.
