TMP and this whole idea are ridiculous. It's simply a manuever for ownership and control of something. In a word, ego.
First, this standards business.
When you say "we want to have standards" that doesn't sound bad on it's face. We've all seen a blubbery Superman and thought, "wow, he really shouldn't be wearing that." But TMP and clicque have some arbitrary, made-up-on-the-fly set of personal criteria that are subject to his whimsy. That's just dictatorship. I guarantee there wont be a community making standard decisions, but TMP will just tell someone "like it or lump it."
Second, the need for another Superhero Forum.
This is, from the outset, dubious. I could see if someone wanted to do this because they thought LoH was a bit family-friendly (not bad in my view, but ok) and wanted a place to curse and speak totally freely. But seeing that TMP is really just wanting a place where he can set his own rules and treat people with impunity, is that really something that requires a new forum? The LoH is run quite well, there's a wealth of help and knowledge, as well as a great atmosphere. Are we forgetting also the costuming forum here?
Third, "uhm yeah, we're going to be about charity.
So, yeah this is kind of tacked on somewhere in the middle of this thread to deflect criticism. TMP's been at the LoH and already knows there's a charitable group going ...and doing a FINE job at that. "So what? What's wrong with MORE charity?" Nothing, but why not just contribute to the group that's already going instead of having to slap your name on it for press. (That always did irk me about celebrities...just donate money, dont start the Bratt Pitt Charity for Wayward Puppies")
Ok. I've said my peace.
