Haha yup it is all made from scratch. Freehanded every bit.
Paint is a no go for now. Will have to get my hands on some pva glue or plastidip first. I made some elbow progress but those pics will be up tomorrow.
Small update for the elbow assembly. I always dreaded the looks of the elbow joints/assembly of some of the other MK V builds (sorry if anyone is offended by this). So I am trying to get a little more accurate with this.
and the abs all flat
And really guys. I have zero to none experience when it comes to iron man builds. All i have done before this are some POTC props and i made severall lightsabers but nothing comes close to the satisfaction of finishing a piece on a freehanded armor.
I found a few sheets of plastic in the mancave that is called my room. So i decided it was time to reinforce my foam helmet and as soon as i looked at the thing i saw that it wasn't worth the trouble.
So i took a look at some old templates from panneusprops (thanks!!) and made them to match the size of the foam helmet. I then cut all the helmet parts out of the plastic sheets and added the details with foam.
I cannibalized the poor old foam thing for the brace on the back of the head so that it would fit snug.
Here is the helmet as of now.
Side to side with the cardboard one.
And with whatever is left of the foam helmet.
I ran out of foam and glue, there are 2 days ahead with 9,5 hours work so saturday will be the first next day to get some things done. Real life sucks when the hobbies are so fun to do XD
@Ace: Thanks but there still is a lot to do, biceps, cod legs and neck. Then of course sealing and painting so this thread will be up for a while
@Graphic Jordan: Thanks it takes a while but it is definitely worth it haha
@Rysjin: This helmet is the best one for the armor i think. It just barely fits my head so the bobble head effect will be minimal. Stil have to do the elbow guard since only the brace is up there now.
haven't done a thing on the suit yesterday and won't be getting much done today either.
So i started to wire the repulsors and the arc. Will also order the same repulsor toys helagek mentioned for the soundboard. And i found something i will be wearing underneath the armor.
Not much of an update but i purchased a suit for under the foam armor and an Iron Man 2 repulsor toy that will give my repulsors sound.
Still have to think of a way to hook up 2 repulsors to 1 soundboard...
Will buy some more foam and glue tomorrow so i can start on the biceps, spine and shoulder armor.
