Suitcase Armor (MK V) build WIP

HOLY COW! Nice work. As much as I want a VII, I'm SO drawn to the V.

that's pretty cool. But didn't the mk V still have the round cetere arc running on palatium? Either way, nice work!

That is correct. He didn't have the triangle at that point.

I know the mkv runs on the paladium arc but i like the "new element" reactor better. the mkvii uses the new element reactor and has a round window in the chest so i figured i could do the same with my mkv.
Just some artistic freedom i am taking ;)

Here is my take on the second helmet. This one is made out of foam. Might use the cardboard one if this one doesn't appeal to me when done

Will upload pics tomorrow, imageshack is driving me nuts. Gonna get some sleep and i hope i can start on the abs or back tomorrow.
Greets,

Made some progress on the forearms. Will post pics as soon as they are finished.

No update on the arms yet as they aren't finished but Imageshack did let me upload these 2 pics

Arc setup (with nearly dead batteries)

New foam helmet.

But in case that doesn't work out i will use this one.

The lines will be cut in after bondo of course :p

I like the design better that's all. And since i wanted to make it a bit different from the other mkv builds.
Greets,

And at last, a forearm. I will make the raised part at the elbow on saturday and hopefully glue the second one together after that.
I draw pieces out and make doubles so i don't have to freehand every part from scratch.

Thi is looking really cool!! But this build sure is going to get expensive when u have it invest in about a thousand t servos to make it collapse down to a suitcase! o_O

Yeah i thought about that as well. I will build the suit first and maybe after that braces that can collapse. I am 1,72m so it won't be a problem to fold everything up.
I do want to keep things affordable, i will not buy and program hundreds of servos and i won't make it fly or build it out of metal for $100 haha ;)

I'm working on the very same suit myself, but I have to say the detailing and quality of work on yours is way better, and the speed at which you are getting it done is also hugely impressive.
I did the helmet in resin, but foam all the way for the rest of it. http://www.therpf.com/f24/im-mkv-helmet-150768/
I'm hoping this thread will give me the incentive I need to get mine finished.
Great job! :)

Well thanks blueraja. I saw your helmet and i hope you post pics of your own suit soon.

As for progress I won't be able to get much done this weekend but i will try to build the braces and joints for the forearm and bicep connection

greets
