Stupid obsessions, Stupid binder..

Ive been thinking a lot lately about the "world targets in megadeaths" binder from DR Strangelove. Every time I went to the store for the last few weeks I looked to see if I could find a black binder that looked like the one in the film.. Sounds simple right?
No, no it wasnt...
I must have looked at a hundred binders that were "Almost" like the one in the film.. I searched and searched and finally got so frustrated and insistent. I bought the 2 closest things I could find. One for the rivets and one for the binder itself. The rest was just a bit of creative photoshop and vinyl cutting. Dont ask why Im so obsessed with a stupid binder I just am ok?.. LOL It really is that cool.
The only thing left now is .. What do I fill it with? From the side shots in the film, there doesnt appear to be too many pages. Obviously maps of cities and military installations, Maybe Ill even add a risque pic of Tracy Reed as a book mark. HAHA! And if I ever find a binder that is film accurate Ill screen print the text on that one! That would be really nice!

Never Heard of DR Strangelove!? Its classic Kubrick! Bizarre, full of innuendo, cool props, and infamously quotable lines! "Gentleman you cant fight in here! This is the WAR ROOM!" Even General Buck Turgidson's name is supposed to stand for "large penis" HAHA!
Get a copy, you can thank me later. ;)

A classic indeed! Lemme check my stash of binders and see if I have something similar in store. But...before we do that, I have a few things in my mind concerning the binder you see in the film.
First: I think that the raised top (first pic with the logo and text on the cover) was probably affixed on a normal flat binder (that you can still buy today).
Second: That raised cover is hiding the top rivets.
Question: how many rings in the binder?

The one in the movie appears to be a typical black 3 ring for 8.5x11 pages. The one I have is 3 ring. As far as I can tell they are identical aside from how the ring strip is mounted.

I've attached a couple pics from my stash, maybe they'll help.

try thrief store... or yard sale. I notice many old notebooks in different color. I do have some old ones in some colors and I still use them. Nice idea

It says "World Targets," so I'm more inclined to think that'd be international cities, Soviet and Warsaw Pact, etc.

Nick Daring: The letters are decal vinyl. If youd like me to make you some just lemme know ;)

Conqueror Worm: those are fantastic!! Thanks a million! And you read my mind with Strangeloves slide rule as well! :thumbsup

Mike J. I would think it would have maps of every strikeable world target, foreign and domestic. US, USSR, UK, France, China and any other nuclear county that might be involved politically. But would most likely be focused primarily on Home casualties and targets in Russia.

Oh and is just me or does anyone else think the pages appear to be in plastic sleeves?
