Studio Scaled Display Stand UK EVENT

Thanks Steve, and all for the kind comments. Think Simon once again got a little stiffed on the display area, but we managed, next year, we want bigger and better, and the Studio display will be a lot more elaborate if things go to plan, hoping to pull off some hotwire sculpting for a better Hoth display. Think ill be free standing more models from here on, the Cymbal stands are amazing for studio models, robust and sturdy enough for some pretty dynamic positions, without worrying that dodgy old Panavise will slip.

It was a fun weekend, and great to see everyone. It all looked bloody impressive together with Phil's Galactica fleet. I stood there looking at it all and was blown away....
I've got one or two pics I'll post later, but I'm wondering if some clever person here could photo shop them a bit, with a little smoke, and fill all the background in with snow...that computer stuff's beyond me..

Cheers all

Phil

Your in Leeds Phil, surely its 6 foot deep their now? I'd glad help but my PS has gone bad on my laptop, if I can get it sorted soon I'll through you some hoth tastic pics together. Hope your well bud and when you gunna come visit me and my Slave :)

Thanks for all the kind words guys, means a lot to us few who displayed. Really want to go bigger and throw a lot into the Hoth display next year, will have a couple of new additions to throw in the mix too so we need more space, and i want more floor standing models now I'm using Cymbal stands so the Bwing and Ywing I'm working on will be up higher up. Think Phil has a bit up his sleeve too, and as we know Guy is working on a TESB grail right now, so the Studio display will only grow!

Sounds like an exciting future. Great display there guys!

Cymbal stands sounds like an interesting way to work Lee. Good idea to have the ships suspended. I guess that might be needed due to the geometry of the ship design and to protect it when you can't lay it down on a table top. Or is there another reason? Just curious about that bit.

Scott Cymbal stands are a plus for me not having much display "shelf" space, but plenty of floor space in my hobby room, so they can now all floor stand, and, i can get the models in a much more Dynamic angle and height, and leave it there, rather than worry about overpriced Panavise failing, they work really well mate, ill get some more pics of my Snowspeeder up as it is now, there heavy, solid, and work well with these large models, il be buying a few more of these over time!

Just realized I was referring to building and you were referring to display. Oops. Not sure why I came to that conclusion. Picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue, again.

Yeah, cymbal stands sound better than panavise. I never thought those things were very good looking. Allan has an interesting armature he sent with the rebel transport I bought from him. It looks like some of the movie equipment I've seen with circular disks as the elbow joints and rods that go through them. Not sure what to call them or where they come from.

Well, you can do both Scott, I've a boom arm and multi clamp that would put the model suspended over my bench, be brilliant for painting TBH!
