Update, I'm getting close to assembling my kit and wanted to properly show off the base. The acrylic, wood, and Plastruct rails are included in the kit.

I'm still awaiting paint to arrive this week, so this is only a test fit. Hence the rails, and acrylic blocks they glue to, not assembled yet.

Hi all! I've got a long overdue update. It took me a while to get the base coats down, largely due to chasing vintage Floquil paints to try and get something as close to what ILM used as possible. Big thanks to Guy Cowen who offered some really good advice for the orange color and green rail color (not pictured). I ended up deviating a bit, but his guidance was much appreciated. I quickly learned that color matching this particular colors was harder than it looked. Regardless, I found something that makes me feel good about the build. Weathering and final assembly are up next.

Ok, I finalized my build today. Now I'll get it packed and ready for Wonderfest. This has been a cool ride, and while my weathering skills need improvements, I am happy it's finished. The last picture is the model this is based off of. And again, this was made from rejected parts while I was casting the kits. I wasn't worried about imperfections for my personal build. The kits are really nice, though. I'll be lugging 3 extras for WF! Thanks for looking!
