Studio Scale Base Star

Mark:

Mighty fine work there; looks as good as any architectural models, those designed for closeup scrutiny. BTW, are those Plastruct Trusses along the back wall, or are they individual beam sections ?

Yes, this model has been cleaned up compared to the real deal. I wanted it to be super clean and crisp since it would be seen close up and not just on the boob tube:love

ALL the truss work is piece by piece like they did. T's, U's and L's. And I might add what a PITA!!!!!! but nice when done:eek

The Apogee guys really had a good feel for depth and detail.:thumbsup

And thank you for the compliment:$

I cannot wait! That is some sharp modeling... thank you again for sharing the progress!

Thanks Jason. How are you doing? I lost your numbers, can you e-mail them to me please.

I was fortunate enough to be able to have the pattern of the outer trench floor and a first generation pull from Apogee of the inner trench floor to do my drawings of them for laser cutting and vector scribing. They are longer then they need to be as were the real ones till they fitted them and trimmed them. There is a end cap to these that look like twin launch plat forms.

The Base Star is looking great!

Is that a Buck Rogers ship in the corner of that pic?

Yes and No, that's the Canaris shuttle and the rag tag fleet ship known as the " hammer Head ship "
The Canaris shuttle was later re dressed and re painted to be an Earth Directorate ship.

The Hammer Head ship was first, then detailed more and re painted for The episode the Man with nine lives. Then redressed and re painted again for Buck Rogers. I hope that helps

Er yup. I've tried callin but nothin.

Is your email address the same or has it changed?

Still the same e-mail address but Verizon keeps having problems with the D slam cards at the CO. I have this horrible static on my voice line and voice mail has been 3 days behind in delivering messages.
As you know the cell doesn't work up here at the house because of the mountains. Just while typing this my modem has re set connection twice.
