Studio Scale Base Star

I guess it would be Will:) You did all the laser cutting, vector scribing and rastering for me:thumbsup
Looks different all together then in the many cut parts you sent eh:eek

Your work is so very, very clean!

I never realized how many fighter jet fusealage and intake parts went into these fleet ships. Very cleverly integrated.

Thanks Jay. :$ I appreciate the compliment.

I am trying to keep it close to musuem quality. SS minis are for screen adn not for display. My plan is to make it SS accurate while keeping it clear and precise to the point it will display well.

Holy moley! (There's not much more to say. Colour me impressed)

I love the Canaris shuttle (which also turned up in Buck Rogers).

What does the red thingameejig belong to in the the first Eastern Alliance cruiser picture?

Beautiful work on the Base Star master. I didn't realize how much panel engraving was done on the ship; since they were casting panels they could take the extra time since they knew they weren't going to have to scribe the whole darn ship !

This is an interesting trade-off in the studio scale world; being faithful to the original, but at the same time realizing that, in most cases, you don't have the level of scrutiny in motion picture work that you do in a real-life museum setting. Having said that, I was very impressed with the level of workmanship coming out of ILM.

Of course, for television, the detail required was much less, which is all the more surprising that there would be such fine lines on the BaseStar.

Mark,

Awsome man.. love your work... attention to every detail... a true master at your craft! Can wait to get a base star in my collection! Thanks for all your hard work! Keep at it! :thumbsup
