Guys, I'm definitely not painting mine the standard clean black and White.
I like the dirty sand trooper look but I'm going to go for something different.
I want an old, battle worn stormtrooper that's been in service for ages.
Possibly a bit of rust in the vocoder etc, even a dent like the boba fett helmet of blaster fire residue.

i see your frown gap is of the narrower kind, that mean you'll be going for a 7 tooth frown?

i'm currently redoing the vocoder as my first attempt was too big it looked like a goatee beard! lol

Thanks dude. It was unintentional really, but I started to follow the anh hero bucket more than anything else. I just preferred the narrower frown, but more so the lower brow which I think looks a lot more menacing!

decided to fill the whole mouth in and carve the teeth out...whether that is a wise move or not, i'm not sure.......

cheers mate...the only thing really bugging me now is the ears! too far forward for my liking, but not sure if I can face ripping them off!

if they bug you now they'll probably bug you even more once its finished.

hmmm...ears are now off!!! had to grind and drill them off though, so will have to make some fresh ones

2 things were bugging me about them: 1. far too close to the tears, and 2. Probably the biggest gripe....because they were so far forward,the rounded area under the tears was too short (the area were the blue stripes go). Would have got away with it if i had gone shadow trooper, but as a std tk it wouldn't have looked right, so off you pop! :darnkids

its quite soothing cutting parts off, i'll be cutting my ears off as well (as you know). its nice to have a fresh base to work off, start from scratch instead of struggling with what you have.

like terra1, its 1 step back for 2 steps forward, it's worth it though even if you're having to hack into your bucket

well, had to drill, grind and sand the ears off, but thats done, the mess that was left has now been bondo'd and i'm now working on the ears again. Have something fancy in mind now though. Totally not screen accurate, but I think it might end up looking pretty neat....all will be revealed in good time

slow week this week due to the shift i'm on, so any time on the build at all is a bonus!!

new ears are on (sort of), but the last few days have been spent adding some details....managed to get some screw caps from work and butchered them to fit over the ears. One ear will be fairly plain and have original(ish) detail, but the other ear will display the Empires symbol ...

Re: now the longest ever TK pep build....

had to rename the thread, as this is now draggggggingggg on, but i'm really not getting much time on it at the mo!

managed to make a few subtle changes.....ground out some of the chin area, as it was far too deep for the vocoder, squared off the tears and eyes a little, widened the frown, started remoddelling the ears!

nothing major...but a few minor alterations;
