Yeah the handplates were vinyl patches - stuck to the gloves. John Mollo confirmed this to be a couple of years back and I reported it here.

IIRC, all the handplates are made like that, they are all glued to the latex gloves. I think the handplates are made from a solid rubber type material. The are not hollow like you get with these kits.

I wanted to make some of these, but didn't know where to start.

Sup fellas, been checkin out the RPF for long time now, however only newly registered. I didn't see anyone else posting this image, so I figured perhaps I'd throw my hat into the ring. The leg armor, as I'm sure you can clearly see looks like paper mache or some type of fabric. Any ideas?

I pretty much assumed it was a reversed shot, but as far as compression goes, that's the real deal. The helmet actually looks that warped and narrow. The more I look at it though, the more I think it belongs in the oddities thread just because it looks so much like Sloth.. "Sloth... love... Chunk. Baby,...... RRRuth.

Yes but that uncropped is 720 x 480 but should be resized to 720 x 540 to have the proper proportions (unsquare pixels of DVD to square pixels of computers).

This looks like it could be stunt armor. I don't know if they even made a stunt set but since Lucas had the armor made in house and a bigger budget, maybe they did make stunt sets.

Although not trooper related on that pic- but what is the deal with using the "blue screen" (black accents, not blue) version of Artoo?
