From Maxim Magazine interview with Seagal:

What's an average night for Deputy Sheriff Steven Seagal?

"We patrol and also listen to the radio for the bad stuff: bank robberies, kidnappings, murders, armed robberies in progress. Those kinds of things."

You were in New Orleans right after Katrina, right?

"Yup, and I saw sh** that I wouldn't want to tell you. Every day I got to save somebody's life. Every day I got to jump bad guys who were trying to kill and rape. People have said, 'In my darkest hour, my moment of light was when Steven Seagal rescued me.'"

You make plenty of money fighting bad guys in movies. Why the hell are you risking your a**?

"I love doing something that's really helping people who are suffering, who are about to get raped or kidnapped. I come from a background where I was a warrior. Acting is just something to pay the bills."

How often do you get recognized mid-bust?

"When I'm kicking the door with five guys carrying machine guns, they don't know who the hell it is. After everybody's handcuffed, then maybe 50 percent of the people say, 'Holy sh**, is that Seagal?'"

Do the bad guys ever ask for an autograph?

"It happens all the time. It's the funniest thing."

Has word spread though the 'hood that Steven Seagal is patrolling the streets?

"I don't want to sound egotistical, but when word gets out that I'm in town, crime goes down."

I remember reading in a gun magazine 10 years ago or so how he really is supposed to be an excellent pistol marksman. They did an article on him and his custom .45 autos he owns. The magazine was saying he normally was shooting around 2,000 rounds a month through his .45s which they said is more training rounds than most American police officers shoot per month. Top that off with him being one of the highest ranked non-Japanese Aikido people in the world means regardless of what people think of him or his acting, he is a genuine real life bad-***.

THIS was an interesting read.

Is it true, who knows? One can take it or leave it...

It's true, I remember seeing it on some network news when it happened.

Hey with his film career in the tank he has to keep his name in the public eye and get some cash somehow.

Hell, maybe even some in the CIA will feel for him and send him on some OPS, instead of what some of the old school operitives did and told him to shut the eff up! :lol

Maybe we should send him to Iraq so he can end the war by himself.

"When I'm in town, those towelheads run for the hills."

Could this guy be any more of a clown?

This is the understatement of the year. On average, it would take most cops FIVE YEARS to pound out 2,000 rounds. A stat which I'm being generous on.

Tell me how this guy rates as a deputy chief? The comments from his Q&A just make him look more of a schmuck than he already is. The department brass should be ashamed of themselves for letting this go forward.

He is one of the few people who actually handles a 1911 properly in movies.
