Steven Seagal's Lawman Special Advance Screening Tonight!

I sure wouldn't want to fight the guy!
I suspect he would kick everyone butts on this forum decidely. :lol

I mean, he is a "god" right? I can't fight god!!!
Even if he says I am a god too, I mean I don't believe that so going in I'm divinely disadvantaged as I question my godhood. :cry

I know we have a few martial artists here though.

Could the best of RPF take down Seagal mano y mano????

What if we drink his energy drink? then maybe, just maybe.

For what it's worth, I know a few people that went to his seminars and they say he's real good. They have trained with a lot of the top Aikido Instructors so they know what they are talking about.

Also, just because you are good at a martial art doesn't mean you can fight!!
I've seen many Black Belts who can't fight at all.

He is one of the few people who actually handles a 1911 properly in movies.

OK, proof. I'm watching the show right now (on commercial) and they showed him at the pistol range with his .45s. He set up two Q-tips and a matchstick and shot the tips off each one at 30 feet. :eek

I love how one of the deputies asked Seagal what would happen if he got into a fight with Van Damme. He basically laughed and said it would be over before it began.

I watched part of that show last night and well...the reason I could only watch part of it was the BS was oozing out of my tv.

First of all...I loved all the brass that was out there. You don't see that kind of brass at homicide scenes...let alone actually out on patrol. You don't see brass out on patrol because...well...those streets are dangerous and you can get hurt.

Second...In LA heat...Seagal must smell just peachy after about 10 minutes with that LIV Tac vest on. :sick

Third...I saw the second star on his tab...so again someone tell me how this guy rates as a deputy chief/ assist chief? Do they have ranks like that for auxiliaries/ PT'ers down there?

Fourth...where I see Seagal doing some good...is that if he really wanted to help officers. He should be putting on inservices through out the country. Lord knows he's not busy acting or trying to act...other than on this show. Gracie now does this to a good reception and it's helped a lot of officers.

About the only thing that is 100% verifiable is that he is a frighteningly good shot and at one time was a good martial artist. Unfortunately, these days he's little more than a joke.

My Dad was a cop and I have to wonder what the real cops down there think about this guy. Having grown up in a cop household, their tolerance for people like this is usually non-existent.

I know a lot of jefferson Parrish officers that, once they got passed the idea of seeing a movie star, they really didn't care for him at all.

You could tell that in a few scenes, especially during the high speed chase in the first episode he's trying to the give the driver directions and he just goes "Let me drive Steven" you could almost hear the guy wanting to tell him to go bugger off.

ok watched it tonight. New Drinking game, anytime he mentions Zen, or him studying martial Arts, take a shot!
