Wow, was able to find some time this morning while do laundry to work on my Cyberman, here's an unexpected update.
Decided to work on the upper body, front and back.

Needed to add a bit more of an angle on the chest area, and cut the large groove down the middle of the back, so that helped me change the angle of the chest area.
Enjoy.

Man I need to clean my mirror!!!....

Is it me, or are the upper "bars" extending out of the chest symbol supposed to be horizontal in stead of angled?

here's is pic of one of the actual costumes used. SLightly worn, (missing the bottom bar but you can see where it was. This shows the bars are angled.

Certainly looks angles in that pic. In the others they looked horizontal. I really like what you've done so far!

Here is a side-by-side comparison of the screen-used costume and your scratch-built chest. I think you nailed the angle. The thickness of the blades and length might be slightly off, but there's no doubt the angle is spot on.

The other thing I noticed is how low the neck-line came down on the screen-used chest. I hadn't noticed that until I put them side by side. Heck, that thing practically comes down to the logo.

I'm watching your progress closely, as I might move toward foam-building more of Mikey's costume since the neck seal came out ok. You're build is definitely inspiring me to keep my options open!

I am still not happy with the Cybus Symbol. Will do it again when I feel like it, I want to move on to the other arm and gloves next. But thanks for the info and suggestions. The neck line on mine does a look a bit too high, I will have check that out later. Thanks.

This is EXACTLY what I was hoping to find when I googled how to make a Cyberman Costume. That's amazing. My 10 year old daughter wants a Cyberman costume for the DragonCon convention in September. I figure I have 3 months to learn how to build one. I love the idea of foam instead of cardboard.

Is there a "beginner's" topic on how to get foam and work with it? I'd love to learn how to do this.

I've started on this project myself and after seeing your results I plan to follow the same method. I found some great templates over on the Cyberman builders forum that were taken from an action figure and enlarged that I've started to tweak for accuracy and plan to use for my build. I'd be very interested in any tips or advanced warnings you could give me for problems I might encounter.
