Hello! This is my first post on the RPF but I wanted to share a recently completed project with some fellow makers. This was the result of a final project for a sculpture class I'm enrolled in at Penn State University. This was an original design I had but a lot of my work is heavily inspired by other media like Akira, Star Wars, and pretty much anything Syd Mead ever worked on. I'd love to hear what others think of the look, how it can be improved, or what it may remind them of. Hope to be posting on here more very soon.

I like the look. I am a fan of unusual looking helmets. This is giving me spider head vibes with all the "eyes".
You nailed it! At the time of making the helmet I had recently gone to a convention for bug enthusiasts and loved seeing all the eyes on the spiders. I liked the idea of having a pilot that could see all of his blind spots.

Love the concept/design of the helmet(y)(y) What kind of materials did you use to make it?
Thank you!! The helmet and chest box are made from cardboard and paper mache coated with resin to give it some strength. The oxygen mask is a 3D printed replica of a MBU-14/P high altitude mask. I found the file found on thingiverse from the user RimorRes. The armor pieces were eva foam.
