Star Wars Wedding

Hello RPF, My Fiance and I are going to get married this July. We're going to have a Star Wars themed wedding. My groomsmen and I will be dressed as Jedi, and my wife to be will be dressed as Padme and her bridesmaids will be dressed like Padme's handmaidens. I'm posting to ask for Ideas for the wedding. Some of the most creative people are on this site, and I'd like to see what you come up with. We'll be making most of the Costumes ourselves, but if someone has a cool Idea, and knows how to pull it off, we would appreciate the input. I'm going to attach some photos of what were planning on doing.

Food Ideas, Also, we're going to have star wars shaped cookies. And I wanted to make the cookie trays look like buildings from cloud city.

So if anyone has any Ideas, or plans/templates, Please share. Assume I have plans for none of this, cause if there is a better Idea out there, I'm open to it.

Go over to Astromech.net and see if there's an R2D2 in your area who's willing to be the ring bearer.

PLEASE do this wedding as serious as you can! It would be very cool to FINALLY see a Star Wars wedding that doesn't play out as a joke or fanboy day. I mean enjoy the sentiment but make it real. Congrats!

BTW, you totally need an R2 as the ring bearer...

I was in a friends "Star Wars" themed wedding several years ago.

The groom was in white Vader armor sans the helmet and all the grooms men where Jedi
The bride and brides maids where Naboo inspired (it was before Ep2 came out)
We also had 2 blue republic guards, R2 and Vader, the priest wore a Palpatine robe.

I can't read what the pizza says, but really, why not go with the obvious "Pizza the Hut"?

I know that's Spaceballs, but I'm sure literally everyone wants that to be the name :rolleyes

That said, I have never seen a Star Wars movie so I have nothing else to really offer.

If you have a 501st outpost near you, you might be able to get a few Storm-troopers to work the party for you... like seating guests and "guarding the door" and stuff... They work for free (donations). :) The R2 ring-bearer idea is fantastic! Yoda preacher would have rocked, when I was 20, but I am 37 now, and I think it would be very distracting and disney-like... Keep it simple. Use as many SW elements as you like, but remember why the original trilogy was better than the prequels: The glitter was in the back-ground. Too much of a good thing aint good anymore. I love your idea and I wish you and your fiance the best of life. :)

Have a Chewie at the front of the church and make him growl when the wedding party arrives so that family and guest stand at the same time, turn at the same time, and sit at the same time. Ala A New Hope medal ceremony! Of course play that very scene music as the bride enters!

BTW what is the budget on this little get together?
