Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

If I don't get my preorder tickets to the midnight showing, I'm going to start throwing things.

AMEN to that!!!! Only two theaters in the Seattle area proper that I will see this movie at. Both have ups and downs to them. IMAX is a great theater but no reserved seating, so you'll wait in line all day, or - Cinerama which Paul Allen (Seahawks owner) owns. Up to date technology and has reserved seating. Just have no idea when tickets go on sale, and will NOT sit in the front corner!!! UGH

they could tell us every single detail about the new star wars and it would not stop one person from going to see it ..
On the flip side, they could also not show a single frame and just put a Star Wars logo in front of us and it wouldn't stop anyone from going to see it.

If by "everyone" you both mean net-savvy sci-fi people like ourselves, then you're both right.

There are millions of other people out there who barely even know another SW movie is coming.

Actually I will challenge that assertion. This film has a pretty high awareness factor. Not only have the trailers been big online hits, but the pop culture magazine and news media are running stories, even CNBC has had a bunch of features on about SW and TFA's impact on Disney as a company. I have had so many people in my personal and professional life who are not fans but have asked me about the film.

I wish the ads were nothing more than the star wars theme and stills of the concept art.

Just like the teaser for esb

I can't walk into a room of family or friends without

"so... you hear a new Star Wars is coming out?"

"SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!"

"I hear Luke is in it!"

"Luke SKYWALKER?!?!"

*wife beside me digs elbow in ribs*

Obviously...I never know how to react.

I feel you.
On the one hand, I don't want to shut someone down for showing a bit of enthusiasm for something I love. On the other, of course I know.

It seems to work out best when I just respond genuinely.
"Yeah, I've known since it was announced and I can't wait."

I always try to let them have their excitement. I feel like I just ruin comments when I come in with my Star Wars obsession and dominate the conversation.

I had this really cute girl cut my hair last month that mentioned she had a Vader tattoo on her foot... I couldn't contain it after that. I went balls to the wall after that and slammed her with all sorts of Star Wars knowledge. Best hair cut of my life.
