In all fairness to Guy he is one of several people on this site that has a real link with "The Force Awakens ". They simply can't say anything because of "None Disclosure" agreements, though once the film is released they can discuss their involvement ,at least as much as they want to . Let us say in some cases that their various talents as RPFers have been employed to help, if not directly on the film, then with projects assocoiated with it.
A trailer may have leaked and been blocked swiftly but I doubt it. I do know of several instances where material has been forced off the net in very short time frames and things seem to have tightened up remarkably as of late. But I haven't heard a single thing about the trailer since the failure of the Force Friday rumour. So it may be Guy is privy to something we aren't.
It would be very strategic for the trailer to hit later this week or next(see my previous posts about a month back). Half term in the UK is the traditional start of the surge point in Xmas gift toy buying where big ticket gifts are decided on and coupled with the huge Halloween spend on costumes so it would make absolute sense to reignite the interest in SW to encourage parents and kids back into Disney stores and on line .
Wait and they will hit a ton of competitive interest.Halo Five, Rise of Tomb Raider,Fallout 4, Assassins Creed and a ton of other video games will soon be hitting their release dates and that will pull the focus off SW if they aren't careful. Its interesting they've released the beta test of Battlefronts this week just ahead of Rebels. So may be just after that hits the screens? Otherwise cinema releases like the new Bond and the last of the Hunger Games are going to steal the thunder and as the media goes into overdrive with Xmas advertising now and that singular wow factor may be lost if they leave it too late. Parental nostalgia can have a massive influence on gift purchases.
So sixty odd days out makes sense to hit the SW button for the final time. Its the only reason I can think of for sitting this long on the trailer which I heard was "locked" ages ago. Despite "Force Friday", just a month ago, look at how the interest has dropped off in this thread. So far I have hugely admired the entire way the film and merchandising media campaign has been run and hit their markets, but currently the lack of a new trailer is having a negative impact on fan and media awareness. People can get awfully critical when they have been forced to wait for something that's doesn't met their expectations, though in this case I doubt that very much.
