Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

I'm a huge mega Star Wars fan of 35 years (it would have been longer if I was born earlier, haha!) and I don't know what i'm supposed to be seeing in that pic, hahah! I'm not disgruntled about anything on the MF. The fact that it's still around and flying is just awesome.

I think we should all be fortunate after 30 years post ROTJ that Han would STILL have a functioning Millenium Falcon. Most of us don't even have functional cars after 6-10 years anymore...

Yeah, gotta figure that after 30 years, here' might be a couple new doodads in the Falcon. Now if it's a Glade Plug-in air freshener - I might have a problem. Or think it's awesome - I'm not sure.

I agree, I'm damned happy to see the Falcon flying again. Hopefully JJ isn't the kind of clown to think blowing her up would be edgy (he just might be), and we'll get to see a lot of her before this new trilogy is done.

I think it's less a matter of being disgruntled, than one of spotting all the new differences. Especially because the design is virtually identical in many areas, paying a very close hommage to the originals. Actually kind of a rarity these days. The Falcon we've seen so far is 90% faithful, with just a few cosmetic updates. That's actually kind of unprecedented in this kind of big budget sequel series, as far as I know.

Speaking as someone who had been really really looking forward to seeing the TOS Enterprise on the big screen in '09's Trek, I wholeheartedly agree. I know Billy Dee isn't in this one, but there's still a part of me that hungers to see Lando and Chewie flying the Falcon while Han and Leia show what a husband-and-wife team of a quarter-century can do in the gunwells. The Falcon is, to me, as much a character as any of those, and that's kind of a dream team of concentrated awesome. If they hadn't gotten the Falcon right, it would have hurt the whole thing.

True, but then neither are cars meant to be aftermarket customizabe. Not that the MF necessarily was, but that's just a technicality.

I think at this point, it's like a restomod 57 Chevy. The outside looks like a 57 Chevy, but a lot of the inside is new.

BTW, I also have no clue what we're supposed to see in that pic.

Hi Gang,

This is the area I was looking at. It would appear that they added something similar to a "Sight Glass Flow Indicator" similar to the image below. It's def clear and appears to have a ring or "collar" near the top (toward the canopy) and at least 4 bolts (2 we can see) mounting the part into the console. Again, I'm taking a total stab in the dark...

The angle of the greeblie coming off the back of the console seems to fit. I don't think, whatever it is, is sitting up toward the instrument panel just under the nav screen.

Any ideas?

I'd always figured the Falcon was close to 100 years old already, anyway.
I'm sure she has another hundred years left in her.
They built stuff to last back then, you know.

I'm not seeing that AT ALL. I see something flat that is on the control panel under the nav screen, like another flat screen just below it. It doesn't look like a 3d object jutting out from the center console at all to me.

Maybe a cup holder [emoji13]

"Hello Corellian Engineering Corp. support representative speaking. What can we help you with today?"
"Well I have a YT-1300 and my cup holder isn't working."
"Sir that is actually the data input for adding new holodisc nav data into your navcomputer."
"Really?"
"Yes sir."
*Hangs up*

Well, I felt a need to provide a Public Forum Service here.

I would suggest NOT getting busy with your significant other, for at LEAST the next week. If you choose to do so, please be EXTREMELY careful.

We are EXACTLY nine months out from the TFA release, & I'd hate for someone to have to make the choice between the premiere or the delivery room.

Same here; it just looks like a small viewscreen to me. *shrug*

As someone who has been married for ten years the chances of having sex this week are pretty slim anyway.

If she reads that the possibility of you succesfully getting anything at all (except an elbow in the ribs whilst you are asleep) is approximately three thousand, seven hundred and twenty to one!

And so the merchandising wagon rolls on down the hill!!!

Sounds familiar. Looks like Disney wants us all to have a small library before the film hits, mainly consisting of SW books.
