Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Or maybe it''s just a background vehicle for use in scene full of X-wings and/or other craft? Remeber the rebel hangar from ANH?

Could be, who knows - all I know is that is has been retouched in some way.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I wish I could reminisce that far back.:lol

I remember exactly how I broke my Yellow Voltron though...I tried to make it ride down the apartment stair railing...ZOOM! CRASH! He only made it half way...

A kid we used to baby-sit broke my Rancor's arm. I remember being very particular who played with my toys.
Somehow? Hmmm.....

I bet bet you know exactly how. Sounds like there is a story. Tell it! Lol

Looks like Mark has been on a diet. And the beard looks good as well. I like it.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

It will be nice to see a full scale RMQ XWing. Why not mix both together? There are several pieces that appear to be leaning in that direction :)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

^His artwork is also coming alive in the desert with whatever that entranceway is supposed to be. It will be nice seeing anything of Ralph's influence in this movie. His art said SW like pretty much nothing else could.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

No, there should be no Sith. I don't know why everyone, EU writers included (who at least waited 100 years for real Sith to show up), want to keep bringing Sith back so soon. Clearly the one Sith who really had his act together didn't do much other than rule for 20 years. Great idea to try again.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I can see there not being a new Republic just yet, it could very well take more than 30 years to set up a galactic-scale government. The mandalorian armor could mean any number of things. Female villain sounds great to me. But if they're continuing to tell the Skywalker story in this new trilogy, and it's true Boyega is the main character a la Luke in ANH, that would mean Luke married Lupita Nyong'o and they had John Boyega together. Which would negate Latino Review's previous "report" about Nyong'o playing a Sith. This is why I put zero stock in LR rumors and "reports." They're all a lot of hot air and guesswork (educated guesses, granted, but guesses just the same) and half the time they invalidate themselves when new information comes out. I'd be okay with all this if true, but since it's from LR, I doubt it is.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Who can guess closest to the date that the title is officially announced?

There had been some rumors that the title would be announced at this year's Comic-con but that seems a bit earlier than usual, based on how the PT was handled.

A part of me agrees with this though the problem is the Sith are such an iconic and dangerous baddie for our friends in the GFFA. Who else would be worthy of being a true threat? It would certainly have to be a lightsaber-wielding baddie to satiate the need for some glorious duels!

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I have just read through every one of the 285 pages of this thread and I have one thing to day - "Get a Life. Wait until the movie comes out and you have seen it, to have an opinion. And STOP WHINING FOR CRIPE SAKE!!

Am I banned yet?

Star Wars Episode VII: I Have a Bad Feeling About This

To which Luke responds: "Han, I DID warn you about those bantha burgers!"

Wait, that's not what they said, they said his characters arc would be similar to that of Luke not that he was Luke's son.

I was extrapolating. I'm saying that if he's the lead character in this new trilogy, which the article claims, and if they're doing the continuation of the Skywalker story in the trilogy, it would stand to reason that he is the offspring of Luke Skywalker. It's all rumors and speculation - including LR's assertions - and I in turn am just using said rumors in my own uninformed state to come to my own conclusions. We could all be completely wrong, but it's fun to speculate just the same.

At any rate, I still don't trust LR as far as I can throw them.

But that's not what they say. They say it has ECHOES of Lukes arc but says nothing of a continuation of the Skywalker saga.

  • John Boyega isn’t a Jedi or a Padawan at the beginning of the movie, he’s the one that has the story arc that brings him into Star Wars’ greater universe. It has echoes of Luke’s arc in A New Hope.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Yes it does say that, but outside of the bullet points, the article goes on to say Boyega was rumored to be the lead. Not "a" lead but "the" lead.

From everything we've been hearing, Boyega is playing the lead so it's not too much of a stretch for his character arc to involve him discovering his Force powers.

So I think, given the article as a whole, that what I'm saying is a valid interpretation. Maybe they just didn't connect their own dots or maybe I'm imagining dots that aren't there. Regardless, it's all rumors/speculation, so does it really matter since I'm speculating just as much as everyone else?

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I think Daisy Ridley will be as much a lead as him. Perhaps she is Han's daughter, he is killed somehow, she discovers Boyega as a fellow Force sensitive person (Daisy would have the Force from her Mom) and they form the core of the new trilogy, with a little help from Uncle Luke. Carrie Fisher was quoted this past week in response to q question as too what her first impression was reading the script as saying "I wish I was Han Solo". So it seems likely he will feature prominently for this one film.

that's cool. I surmised that Harry got big bucks and a part of the plot ticket on this one to agree to be on board. I had read that he has a major role but only signed for one film. that's not to say he won't do the other 2 if his character does survive this first story but being he only signed for one can mean one of two things.. he doesn't want to commit until he sees how this one pans out or he committed to one only if Han has a weighty fate in this one.. I'm okay with whichever way it goes but would prefer to see him at least go on to episode 8.
