Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Zack Snyder (Man of Steel) is developing a Star Wars samurai movie for Lucasfilm!

Huh? Rubber-like outfits, no hilts? A Samurai sword had a hilt called a Tsuba. Is that what you meant? Also, Jedi in the Old Republic wore armor.
I was mocking the new Snyder Superman costume... that awful rubber unitard with no shorts.

Not that it has any bearing on the topic at hand but I thought I'd just mention that the hilt of a katana is not the tusba, the tsuba is the guard, I believe that the hilt is called a tsuka.

At least it isn't true. It would have shown that Lucas really had gone off his rocker to have any part of this horrid idea.

I think it would be interesting to see Star Wars go outside of the normal series. It could make it an even larger.

Star Wars: Deep Space Nine?

Re: Zack Snyder (Man of Steel) is developing a Star Wars samurai movie for Lucasfilm!

You mean Star Wars: Death Star Nine

Re: Zack Snyder (Man of Steel) is developing a Star Wars samurai movie for Lucasfilm!

Did the rebels blow up another six inbetween?

You are correct, I was thinking he meant no guard. The hilt is a Tsuka.

It wouldn't surprise me if there were in the EU continuity, some of the EU authors aren't very creative and can't think of anything original so they give us things more like Star Destroyers of enormous proportions so why not more Death Stars?

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Yeah, the EU authors are big on superweapons. The Sun Crusher, the Galaxy Guns, blah blah blah. I mean, it sort of makes sense that the Imperials would tend to go for big, flashy, mass-destruction stuff, but part of what made Zahn's Thrawn trilogy so good was that Thrawn was just REALLY FREAKIN' SMART and didn't rely on superweapons.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Are we going to see a third, even more more powerfull Death Star in the next trilogy? Maybe it blows up entire systems and is even less completed? Lol

:D why not just find an extra moon orbiting a useless planet, build a big super laser dish on it and all kinds of tunnels and bunkers then add some thrusters... could be faster than building a moon size space station. :lol

That's not real fair though. The major offender is Kevin J. Anderson who hasn't wrote another SW book since Darksaber. He did the Galaxy Gun, World Devastators, Eclipse Star Destroyer, Sun Crusher, prototype Death Star, etc. No one likes him so he hasn't written anything for a decade at least. That's why I think the Dark Empire series should be wiped from the EU. It didn't make sense (Luke going to the Dark Side for one) and it was lazy writing.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

A construction job of that magnitude would require a helluva lot more manpower than the Imperial army had to offer. I'll bet there were independent contractors working on that thing: plumbers, aluminum siders, roofers. In order to get it built quickly and quietly they'd hire anybody who could do the job. Do you think the average storm trooper knows how to install a toilet main? All they know is killing and white uniforms.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I think it would be far better and more interesting if they avoid doing another super weapon.
