Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

When the blockade runner model was originally made to be the MF, yes. But it was subsequently rescaled when it became the blockade runner, so no, the blockade runner dish would be WAY bigger than the one on the Falcon.

yeah, that's probably the case, although I was always surprised how small the blockade runner was relative to the interior scenes. It's like a Tardis.

I saw the Hobbit in IMAX at the weekend and they showed the Star Wars trailer also in 3D, I wonder if it was jusy as the Hobbit was 3D or if they are going to release Star Wars also in 3D?

Yes, they already confirmed they filmed in IMAX and will have a 3D release.

i defend GL's creative choices, but that particular one seems very confused. How many Blockade runners does Bail have?! I think the dish would be the same size if you compare the corvette to the Falcon.

I mean, with his resources I suppose he could theoretically have had a fleet of them but to me it was just cooler to think the one we saw in Ep.III was the same one in Ep.IV. Heck, I think it would've been cool if the Tantive IV had been the featured ship of the PT, perhaps like the Falcon was for the OT.

I had fun, can't wait for the real one. But that is a Ford full bodied photo less than a year old. I added the belt, details and shaped it to look more like something Han would wear.

Just because the dish on the Falcon looks the same as the dish on the Tantive does mean they have to be the same size. Look at tires, they all look the same, pretty much, but come in a range of sizes to fit different vehicles. Safe to assume, that in the SW universe, the company that makes radar dishes makes a variety of sizes.

Is there a completely rendered, full size Falcon for this flick, or just the rebar model with outer panels relevant to whatever screen shot/perspective is needed...? If they've only made enough of it for whatever scene is needed, I'm not sure how it could be used for anything at Disney or elsewhere. (?)

From on what we have hear drom the set and from Kevin Smith, they built a full scale set with interiors.

Someone posted a scan of the Haynes Falcon Manual earlier in the thread showing a rectangular YT-1300 dish so I'm guessing they got it from there.
