Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Finally something new. Some rings true possibly, others not as much...

They source could have at least understood that the SW Galaxy is only singular. But the more I hear about Luke being MIA, the focus being on Han and Leia's daughter, and some of the main story the more I think we are starting to glean some info that I big into and like.

What I want to know is when the Sith get a hold of the Tesseract, and Han and Chewie team-up with Peter Quill. :D

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I love how all these sites just assume it's supposed to be tatooine with absolute certainty just because it's a desert location.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

No! Not yet at least. :) It popped up in my news feed and I didn't recall seeing it. :)

The night is young... and it is Saturday... SO! :D

This thread is long in the tooth, and replications are bound to show up! :D :D

Happy Saturday Night!! :cheers :D

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Well considering Tatooine has been in 5 of the 6 films it's probably not a bad instinct.

I'm just saying; be that as it may, it could just as well be somewhere else. They could use a colored filter (purple, for instance) and change it into another place entirely.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Hoping most all the rumors are bunk especially the last one aout luke as that would jut pooh all over what was so great about luke's ot journey

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I would hope they have taken the first of the next trilogy as an opportunity to go back to basics. And by that I mean that we wouldn’t see too much Jedi action. I felt the prequels absolutely over spent and devalued the original mythological aspect that made “The Force” such a powerfully interesting thing to believe in and I would be more than happy to see all things “reset” and redone.
After all Luke knew virtually absolutely nothing about JedI history except for his families part in it and at the end had only the company of the force “ghosts” to advise him. Given the whole bloody conflict that the galaxy has suffered as the result of centuries old wars between Sith and JedI, I would think Luke would want to take his time and try to figure a way of restarting things ,by bringing the much vaunted “balance” back . I never bought into the only two, "a master and an apprentise" which seemed to be a recent development , nothing like ancient Sith/ Jedi history. It all had turned into a bit of a mess with the prequels ,which is why I would totally accept that Luke has been living in isolation on an island, studying and making plans, and waiting to see what would comeout of the shadows.
I would be very surprised that nothing would have been done if he were kidnapped. Leia who, having lost all her family but suddenly realizing she has a twin brother alive, would be bound to ask questions if she lost contact with him. Hero of the Rebellion goes suddenly missing and nobody does a thing???As if.
Remember she and Luke are linked and she feels his presence, as at the end of ROTJ when she knew he was off the DS2 when that it exploded. And I hardly think she would leave her family heritage alone either, given that she, according to Obi wan and Yoda was the last of the two hopes they had for the future, and the Force was growing in her. Given the families troubled history with that mysterious religion I wouldn't be surprised that her daughter will need the guidance of her Uncle as she comes into her powers, and its interesting that the actress probably playing her now has a three film deal across the full trilogy.
Remember ,essentially this is going to be an evolution of the characters and places we've known but not a revolution and I think there are absolutely dozens of great storylines out there, building on what we know and taking it in new directions which is why I don’t buy most of what I’m reading so far. Its so remarkably clumsy but controvertial, likely to cause much panic and redirection.
For me the opening shot has GOT to be a star scape with a planet slowly coming into view then the Falcon storms across the screen chased by fighters and a Star Destroyer. But whose on which ships???
And I absolutely do believe that the galaxy would fragment into factions, just like the fall of the Roman Empire, on which Lucas is said to have based a lot of his history building.
Everyone I know who was a SW fan or otherwise all agreed that all though they blew up ANOTHER deathstar the Imperial fleet was mostly left intact, as were all the other Imperial bases around the Galaxy, so although the Sith head was cut off with Sidious and Vaders double death, the main political and military body wasn’t, so the civil war would probably have continued for decades. Pray that it has. For that will mean things are far more flexible and interesting.

With hints at other canon besides the films being used, it could be anywhere. Korriban for instance. Put a little lens filter on, a tint of evil red so to speak, and there you have it........or Mars. Which ever red planet you prefer. :D Personally, as stated above. Tattoine has been in 5 of 6. Can we expand just a teeny tiny bit please? Maybe?
