Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

It was more of the other article that gave me the feeling that they are doing it strictly for the sake of diversity.
The Bad Ass Digest article seemed less... polished(?) and more speculative than the Variety article.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Well I'm just saying. And I will wait to throw my atomic sized "I hate George Lucas and everything else" fit until after they officially release the cast, but I do feel uneasy about those two articles.

Uneasy because a black actor might be cast? That's silly.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Well, I guess I'm a racist now...

No, I am uneasy about all three of those actors.

I still don't understand how you can feel uneasy about people whom you already said you don;t know their work. What about their appearance makes you feel uneasy?

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Just something. I mean I've caught glimpses of Downton Abbey and Girls and I can't say I cared for either of those shows. I'm not going to hang that on either of those actors, especially since there's something I really like about the guy who is supposedly playing the villain. I just don't know. And I'm not going to completely blow up unless they make some completely ridiculous move (like casting Tom Cruise as Han Solos estranged son). If the Wachowksi's can make a Korean pop star look like a badass, I suppose J.J. can make a guy from a drama about owning a piece of property into a Jedi.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

This just proves so much to me that most people that grew up with Star Wars will find it very difficult, if not impossible to appreciate anything/most new Star Wars. The amount of fanboy "nostalgia addicts" is just plain silly... folks are bitching about a movie that we haven't seen a minute of and no one's been officially been cast in.

Not this 45 year old lifetime fan. I loved the PT, I loved the CW, I loved the EU. I'm in for a penny, in for a pound. :)

Not this one either - well, I'm not 45... yet.

(I didn't watch much Clone Wars and my EU stuff was mostly limited to Tim Zahn and a few other things here and there).

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I want some concrete news! All this rumor stuff is frustraiting, we should be watching trailers by now ;)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

241 pages and not any actually news other than E7 will happen :)

Over/Under of reall news before 250? :)

And, at least recently, i don't see anyone complaining - i see people worrying, but not really complaining until you get back the PT stuff. I think we'll be all right if the main focus always remains making a good movie.

And a welcome end to the hyperbolic misplaced anti Disney rhetoric.

I don't think there's all that much to complain about at this point. It's all just rumors and hearsay. I could complain that we have no real info to complain about, but that might be too meta. ;)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Not sure if it's legit or not, but this popped up on my Facebook feed earlier...

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

could be legit, would be an interesting campaign logo. So OT.
I love it.

Here's a question - the OT is mostly known by their names. The Prequels seem to be known mostly by "Episode Number." This new logo - if it is legit, lends itself to Star Wars 7; not Episode VII/7. Is is possible that they're going to push this new one as more of a title, rather than "Star Wars: Episode VII"? Will there be less emphasis on Episode and/or VII?

Do we as fans have preference if this is known as "eventual movie title" (ala Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi) over "Episode VII"?

I know it's not that big a deal, we just want a good movie. But, curiosity has the best of me.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

The could do away with the numbers if it was a complete new series, with new characters. I'd say since Luke, Leia, and Han are supposedly back, you could say it's a continuation of that arc. So I'd say they should keep it.
