Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

It's actually the Lost Twenty, of which Dooku was the last. It refers to the only Jedi who had left the order of their own volition to that point in time. Those busts that Obi-Wan is looking at in the Jedi Library in AOTC are of the Lost Twenty.

And while we're on the subject of corrections, the plural form of Jedi is Jedi, not Jedi's as some have written.

thanks, I knew it was something like that but since it was never actually mentioned in the film I was only vaguely familiar. Was the Lost Twenty mentioned in the novel at all? I should read the books one day. I only ever read the original trilogy novels and Splinters of the Mind's Eye back in the day. After that I decided chasing girls was more fun :lol

Yea i think that is where they were first referenced, in the AOTC novelization.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Don't get me wrong, I think Luke having internal conflict with the dark side isn't bad, but ultimately what defines his character (in relation to the Force) is that he has the inner strength to ultimately overcome it.

I could see it more in terms of Luke, Han, and Leia being secondary characters who act as advisers to the new generation. Or at least Luke. As cool as it would be to see the classic characters, I don't think they'll be the leads in the new films.

That's fine with me as long as they are not left out of the film altogether. I want to see them even if only for them to be killed off (though i would prefer to see them live). I hate it when sequels explain away characters in dialogue instead of showing it. It always makes me feel like I've been cheated, especially if I've loved said characters for 15 years.

I agree. As long as one or some of them have some sort of role that link them to the existing films, over wise why call the episodes 7, 8, and 9?

I'm still in the camp that only Luke should be in the next film. I don't mind when we don't see a characters full life and demise on the screen. It leaves us wanting more which is how we should feel.

Han and Leia have never been the focal point of any film. The PT was (for the most part) Anakin's story and the OT was Luke's story. Those are the only characters you can't "explain away".

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I agree. Of the three, Luke would be the most important to include. While it would be great to see Han and Leia, Luke is really essential to ground it to the last trilogy.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I just hope they leave the prequel junk out of it.

For the most part I agree but I don't think you can get away with the outright denial that some of us would prefer. Like them or not they are a part of cannon and if any of it ties to the plot there should be mention there.

However, should definitely be heavily down played! If only because they never chatted about it during the rebellion so it's clearly not the most pressing thing on their minds aside from "You fought in the clone wars?".

We'll have to see!

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Of all those twenty leaving the order I cannot see that not one of them, if not all started training an apprentice or starting a new order. There's definitely potential there, seeing as they were referenced in the PT.

Also... it isn't until RotJ we learn that Leia is a Skywalker. So, the movies being about the Skywalker family you cannot really exclude her or anything connected to her from the tale, anymore than you can Luke. I just doubt Solo is the settling type. He and Lando could definitely have gone off somewhere and continue their scoundrel ways.

Referenced but so subtly that to bring them into it now would be like introducing a brand new concept. That's not to say it couldn't happen though.

I think you can only because she's never been the focal character. It would require a scene where they talk about what happened to her but her presence in the film isn't required I don't think. At least not in the same way that Luke is.

Han is definitely not the settling type and I sincerely hope that if he's in the film it isn't "Grandpa Han and Grandma Leia".

Although he'll take off with Chewie because Lando absolutely is the settling type....

Oooo!

How about Han's "I don't care" attitude in the future is because Lando settled with Leia when Han was unwilling to? :lol

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

And he's extra upset because he knows she'll never go back! :lol
I like this idea :lol:cool
