Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Post-release)

That sounds like the kind of scene that would have been written in an early draft, but cut and never filmed.

Yeah and if they weren't extra careful in how it was handled, it might come across as more comical than intended for such a dramatic sequence.

Yeah... that was my one complaint as well. ;)

I liked the movie but yeah, I thought most of the new ships were pretty underwhelming. The bizarre B-wing converted shuttle (why would that ever happen?) probably being my least favorite.

I don't think he is referring to the actual box Rey opens which is entirely different from the one Obi-wan had, he's referring to one outside the door which I don't recall seeing.

Thanks for clarifying that. I definitely DON'T mean the box she finds the saber in. The Kenobi chest is sitting on the floor to Rey's left, just outside the door as she enters. You also see it again as she falls out the door at the end of her vision. It's definitely the Kenobi chest with one SLIGHT mod, it has four very short legs supporting it and it's painted a lighter shade. I guess that's two slight mods.

its there, its not the same exact box it looks close but has a totally different shape on top. its in the hall way, as she stands at the door of the room the saber is in, its to the left of the door outside in the hall way

There, Chewie got his hug, everyone can chill out now.

One thing I never thought about until recently is that Poe first appeared on Jakku with a regular x-wing...which was destroyed.

But later he had "Poe Dameron's" x-wing.

Perhaps that isn't actually his signature model. He just happened to pick up a black one from the flight deck

I have the 1st Poe Dameron comic at home, I'll check out which he is flying in and report back this evening!

He has a black X-Wing in the comic so more likely he was trying to be a bit incognito on the Jakku mission. He wasn't even wearing a flight suit.

I think I read somewhere that Poe (whose callsign is Black Leader) used a nondescript X-Wing for his covert mission to Jakku, instead of his black one.

In the first issue of the comic, Poe is in his X-wing and has his squad with him. A tracking device planted on his ship leads the First Order to his first stop. We have yet to see how that plays out (I suspect badly), but two things jump out at me:

- Someone in the Resistance is a F.O. spy and will probably get found out and dealt with in the B-story.

- Poe will feel terrible about leading the baddies to people who wanted to not get involved in the fighting and goes covert for the rest of his mission -- leaving his distinctive ship and the rest of his squadron behind. However, as TFA shows, the First Order finds out anyway, through means I'm looking forward to learning.
