Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Post-release)

People can say whatever about the ship designs, but I will ALWAYS love that Kylo ship.

The wide shot of it coming down on the village in the opening sequence is so freaking awesome!

If only they made a widely available toy that had the ship in flight mode. Or better yet, the ability to go in and out of flight mode!

They will and I'll be there to buy it for me and my son. ;)

So Rey scavenges junk and barters for food. Seemingly self-employed.
Then why was someone telling her "chop chop" when she paused for a second while cleaning stuff? Who was that? Her boss? The proprietor of the "Clean Your Junk Café"?

was there ever a bloopers reel on the bluray release(s)?? i have watched everyone on the target bluray. i thought it was funny there wasn't any bloopers. was the bloopers exclusive to another store?

No, the discs are all the same. No bloopers.

Speaking of extras, the deleted scenes were underwhelming. Granted, scenes are removed for a reason, and these were definitely good cuts. Nothing a fan editor would feel the need to stick back in. (And they have burned-in timecode just to thwart that sort of thing.)

i kinda liked the scene showing trooper finn lower his weapon against that woman in the village. i understand them cutting it because why show finn not fire twice.. kinda waste of air time. i did like it though, kinda glad we didnt see kylo on the falcon.

rumor was there was a scene where when han gets killed, chewie flips out and pulls a troopers arm off. would have loved to see it if it were true

speeder chase reminded me too much of pod racing lol

another question i have is, i remember hearing there was a scene where the troopers came down into Maz's castle basement trapping, our heros down there in a stand off. Maz used the force to pull the ceiling down onto them.

i read about this scene, and then saw footage i can't remember where, if it was on a commercial or on youtube of only the troopers running down the castle stairs.

i went through my bluray again and can't find that scene. does anyone else know where that scene is? or am i just drunk and it never happened?

I wouldn't exactly call it self employed. It seems like that main dude is the only game in town. Listen to him and his dudes or no more rations for you no matter what you bring in. More like serfdom.

The Amazon Streaming video has that scene. It doesn't have Maz pulling down the ceiling, but it has the troopers coming down and disarming the group. Han says some witty things, but that's it. I think in the novelization it has her pulling the ceiling down following that bit of dialogue?

ok so tonight i tried to download the target exclusive footage... well after the whole length of watching the bluray (while trying to figure it out) i finally got it downloaded on iTunes... now i can't find the extra footage... i give up

I know we have talked about Obi-Wan's line in Rey's force vision, but I'm wondering what the baby crying noises were supposed to be when she first hears the saber calling to her.

in the novel it is explained that space at the cleaning tables must bevrented and that Reys day dreaming was taking up time that others wanted so they could get their parts clean and sell to Unkar Plutt. Rey was marvelling at the mastery of the old woman's cleaning, and imagining herself still doing this every day at that age when the alien broke her reverie with some choice words.

Without having read through all these posts, just curious to know if anyone else noticed the original Obi-wan saber chest sitting outside the door to the room where Rey finds the lightsaber in Maz's castle. I'm convinced it's there as a clue about who she is. But, either way, it's cool that it's there.

That sounds like the kind of scene that would have been written in an early draft, but cut and never filmed.

That's been talked about. They are similar, but not the same.

I don't think he is referring to the actual box Rey opens which is entirely different from the one Obi-wan had, he's referring to one outside the door which I don't recall seeing.
