That article explains a lot.
I felt that the chasm opening up after Rey had defeated Kylo Ren was a little bit too weird, especially since Rey does not seem to react to it at all.
That scene being different in the novelization tells us that the chasm must have been a late addition to the movie.

and I would n0t be surprised if Luke did have dealings with Rey before her being his daughter or student even though the math on her being left to Kylo's betrayal is a bit wonky the math on the star killer base destroying multiple planets at the same time while everyone watches as well makes even less sense. as in none lol.
but none of this matters I just want to give Disney more of my money !

Not true, it was entirely possible to screw this release and re-launch of the franchise up. The instinct to try and do what's best for the shareholders is the correct one, the shareholders benefit from having the strongest release possible specifically for this film, their first out of the box. If this had hit with a 75% critical approval rating and a similar general audience reaction, had it not achieved box office records, not success, records mind you, if had not done what it is doing it would have been considered a failure. Perhaps because I do look at this from both a fandom entertain,net and business standpoint, but this was the clear narrative road they needed to follow. They needed fa,ilia rite to the point of excess to get people back o STAR WARS. Watch and enjoy e movie for what is accomplishes right out of the box as opposed to what you might think it should be.

Rouge One, given the opening crawl on this event was two sentences, should be alot of new original SW ideas, and no JJ Xerox Abrams either.
So I have that coming as a SW fan. Which I consider myself still to be as much as I am an ALIEN fan or Indy fan. I just can't consume all of it and find it all tasty.

I just hope Kylo doesn't lose his helmet !
I took it to be a Sith/Knights of Ren relic or something as It doesn't seem Kylo has been in enough battles for the helmet to have acquired as much damage if he got it new.
unless Snoke knocked him around in training or something .
anyway he better have it back I don't care if the Enterprise has to be hired to "beam it up"

What was the title of the movie again...? Oh yes... "The Force AWAKENS." I suspect her rapid proficiency has to do with dormant force sensitivity suddenly rushing into the fore, and possibly being enhanced by a connection to someone else in the force. I guess we will have to see.
The main thing that I wish so many of the naysayers would keep in mind is that this is the first of a trilogy. there is plenty of time to explain things. We didn't get all of the info up front in the OT either... remember that?
Some people will only see negative because that's all they want to see. Can't help that...
