I didn't hate it but it does have it's problems. Ren seems to be an angsty goth kid prone to temper tantrums, desperate to be liked by the cool kids.

What is sad is I thought it started out so good and although I did not care for Kylo Ren at all up until the movie started, did not like his look, costume, anything, after his first few scenes I thought he was awesome. I turned to my friend and told him Kylo Ren just grew on me big time and then it went down hill so fast.

What is with the non OT films having such whiny little punks as villains,..seriously????

When the end leaked I said it was misdirection or just wrong. There is no way they will have Luke just in the last few minutes. He will show up half way through with a boat load of Jedi or be Snoke, or some other big twist.

There is no way he will just be in the last few minutes.


Well,...I guess I was wrong. He was in the last 30 seconds and had no lines.

What moron looked at this script and said yeah,..let's sink money into this.


Why in the hell was it so important to keep him out of the promotional material. His look leaked months ago, there was no surprise or twist. He ran off and hid like a punk. Nothing terribly surprising to see or hide.??????

Seriously I was sad the prequels sucked but this is really depressing me.

Phantom Menace lasted two weeks at number one. Titanic 17. Once word got out about TPM it dropped like a stone and was out of the first spot after it's second weekend.

This will happen here as well. I predict two weeks at number one only. Three at best.

You are right but looking at how much they make on crap. Imagine if it was actually good.

Did you like the parts where the Falcon can crash into the ground several times and be just fine? You probably didn't but hadn't mentioned it yet.

More money is made on the toys than the film so the quality of the script wouldn't make a huge difference.

I saw the movie at the first showing last night and I thought it was pretty damn good. It's nice to know that it's still possible to make a quality Star Wars movie after all these years, it made me feel good about Star Wars for the first time since I left the theater in 1980 on opening night. There were good moments in the previous four Star Wars movies but not one of those movies was satisfying in its entirety in my opinion. Kudos to JJ and crew for knocking one out of the park.

Like I said Tom , all the prequels I have seen , I hated....... except Revenge of the Sith , I always wondered how Vader became Vader....I liked the fight between Anakin and Obi Wan and how it felt seeing that after that amount of years since 1979.......

After ROTJ and Vader died , I have been content on where that ended , my series of the franchise .....don't care to see any of them as most of the remakes of Star Trek and other movies were just ruining it for me , I love what I love and that is all from the original writers , directors , and original creators.....people making movies now , have lost sight of the vision as the old guys were visionaries and made these movies believable...but that's just me .....I don't expect anyone to feel like this old boy does D

My friend does take bad movies hard and sometimes I get on him about it. Like, "Dude it's just a movie." but this one really got me down I have to admit, but when I am not typing I am playing with my wonderful kids and thinking about my quality time with the hot wife tonight. She is mad she has gained 15 pounds since we met and I told here enjoy eating. I love the trim Viviana and the curvy Viviana so either way I am good.


On the Falcon, again the only good thing in the movie was lots of the Falcon but yeah the constant crashing was ridiculous. I assumed when it crashed on the Starkiller base it would have to be lifted out and repaired, Come on,...smashing through big trees, bouncing off the ground, etc. That ship would likely be destroyed beyond repair and everyone inside would be dead.

Why,...why has though forsaken me. I am a good person. I spent a decade helping your children that no one else cared about and I lost my entire collection as a result, my career is in the toilet and this movie sucked. Why Father,...why??????????????????????????????

Wow, way to call attention to yourself by starting your own thread to say how much you hated the film when there are already three other TFA threads ongoing. Grandstand much? :rolleyes

The whining and bitching on this forum is absolutely mind-boggling and it's why I'm glad I stayed away from any TFA discussions before seeing the film. I enjoyed the hell out of it and I'm glad I didn't have to listen to a bunch of Debbie Downers before I saw it or I might have blown my brains out before even making it to the theater. Seriously, if people are this upset over a movie that is literally light years ahead of anything we've seen from the Star Wars franchise in over 30 years then it's clear there's just no pleasing some people. To say this was worse than the prequels is quite possibly the stupidest thing I've heard on this forum in a long time....and there's usually some pretty stupid **** said here on a regular basis.

I'll bow out of this thread now because it's clearly just going to end up like most SW threads ultimately do....a bunch of back and forth bickering where nothing ultimately gets accomplished. Enjoy the misery.

The more I'm talking about it and the more I'm reading I'm actually thinking to myself if it wasn't for my lad and the fact at Christmas we always go and see the latest big hit movie, I'd settle for waiting to see VIII and IX on Blu-ray (I cannot believe I've even typed that)!

I did like a lot of it. There were too many head nods to the other movies- the training remote and the chess board were fine, but others that I can't remember- bothered me. The Han with Chewie's bow caster stuff got old but Han had some good jokes.

Some of it made me groan and some of it was great and I'm trying to not look too hard at it.

And I loved the last scene. I just did. The look on his face looking at the saber- man! And I saw the Han death coming- it was pretty obvious- but it still made my insides twist up.
