Yep for me hasbro mentioned before the release that they had only released a third of the items from TFA, but really they have released everything , apart from a space freighter there was nothing new , we'd seen it all.
Also selling figures of characters not even in the film is bad form ( I can accept background characters which is very different)

I'm just a softy...like the nostalgia of visiting an old girl friend, but staying 30 minutes longer than I should've; it was a nice visit that turned ugly.
Still, it felt right (comforting and familiar) for a few brief moments here and there.

Would it make you feel better if I dialed it back to a flat 6? I mean, the Holiday special was a 1.7 for ****'s sake!

Now that I think of it, Chewy did get over Han pretty fast and let Rey jump right in his seat. Selfish wookie. Just looking for someone to let him out to do his business and scratch behind his ears...selfish space dog.

Still an Empire guy. Ewoks..I hate an Ewok. yub, yub...'nuff said.

Okay fair enough. The Holiday Special was much worse. Mostly I liked the first half of TFA and was excited despite a few things bugging me but then it went down hill fast and just ruined the whole thing.

The frozen laser bolt was awesome. That's why I was so surprised he turned out to be such a punk.

Sadly I will go see it in the theater again and will own the DVD just like the prequels.


Yeah I know many didn't but I loved the Ewoks. I was 12 and they were great. I still like them I just wish there was more of a serious fight and a few less comical moments once the battle began.

Looks like some people are starting to show up to excercize you of your hate. :lol
I guess they feel that extending that invite to chat in private will allow them the chance to convince you that you had this all wrong and that you just didn't interpret the film correctly.

Wonder how many will want to, or think they can, save you?

Haha, what?

After I saw it the first time I would have given it an 8/10 now I'm more 7/10. After a second viewing? We shall see.

Things to look forward to hating in the sequel:
Family relationships revealed in cliffhanger ending
Kylos a cyborg ala Vader suit, same but different, he'll prob take on the name
Lando will still be running cloud city
Someone gets frozen in a block of shiny stuff
Snoke is smaller than yoda and an emperor clone

The Snoke size thing is a loser anyway they go. Either he is very small or normal size which makes him look pathetic that he has to project himself that large obviously suffering from "Little Man Syndrome" or he really is that big which is just stupid.


Luke to Rey, "I am your Father." Duh. I just dumped my Daughter on a crappy sand planet with even less than I had. There is no way for Luke to be her Father without him being a total duechebag absentee father.

Lando got screwed. Still mad he was not in this.

Kylo should be real easy to beat now. He is wounded and Rey will probably get trained so she should blow right through him.

A fourth DeathStar probably. I still can't believe they did this a third time and everyone agreed to it. I am curious how a planet can be hollowed out to contain a Sun within it without blowing up with or without the Sun inside. Seriously people got paid money to write this???

General Hux, another little man. Seemed real mad in his speech. Why??? Wait,..who cares.

Please have Jar Jar turn out to be Snoke/Plageious. That would be so awesome and I am not kidding.

It was and always will be crap. I will never like this movie. I am still trying to wrap my brain around the idea that this movie actually happened. I keep hoping I am going to wake up from a bad dream and it's yesterday.

Regarding Poe, rumor is that his role was cut back once they knew they had Ford signed back on. They gave Han a much larger role and Poe was the causality. I would expect a lot more Poe in 8 and 9.

Rey potentially could be a Skywalker, I could see Luke leaving her there for her own good knowing the Force within her would give her the ability to survive.

I think ink the injuries from Ren were pretty severe.

it's not 'in film' but you also have the trailer quote of 'the force is strong in my family - my father has it, i have it, and you have it.'

I think if it was Leia's daughter, we'd know.

Tough call 8/10 for me after leaving the theater.

Overall I am just glad to feel relief. My biggest fears centered around prequel-justifying and thankfully there was none.

My only major criticism was that the villain was weak for me. The tantrums really ruined my belief of his ability to command the role his character held. No way would this guy get the big gig with such immaturity and wasteful action. I would have relished a jab in front of the boss hologram from Hux about wasting valuable resources on unnecessary repairs when they stood together for the conference call.

All in all a few extended moments of dialogue and exposition would have gone a long way. A few sentences about the current state of the Republic would have reinforced the idea that our heroes did in fact achieve some sort of victory after ROTJ, albeit if some personal relationships were lost in the time passed.

New Sequel fears:

Now that new Star Wars is here my hope is the next installment will diverge into some new territory.

I loved Kylo Ren, and I think his tantrums are being overlooked by the big bad in charge cuz he IS an unstable weapon that can be controlled... But I get why some people don't like him. It's fair.

IF Rey was a Solo twin, seperated at birth, I think that will have more scrutiny than the Luke Leia reveal. Han and Leia were in no way parents who had a daughter as well. You can't shed tears over Kylo, but be reunited with a daughter after all that time and not ball your eyes out.

My hope is she is just a girl... a girl strong in the force at the academy that was taken by Luke to Max Von Sydow at a young age to hide her from Kylo when he went nuts.

It would be great if her lineage was nothing special... though it may turn out to be Luke's daughter...

I can't see her being a Solo though...

Yet another TFA musing: I've never given a tinker's damn about Chewie, but JJ must love the old lug, because Chewie stole (or helped Han steal) every scene he was in. TFA is Chewie at his best, most developed, most interesting by FAR. Looking forward to more of his adventures. Hope he can keep fending off Maz

A couple of things still confuse me.
How did Rey just know she was going to be able to use the force on that Stormtrooper like that? She had heard of the force but who'd have tried using it if they didn't previously knew that had it in them, in that situation?
What happened to Finn between being busted for not capping anyone and then fleeing? I just don't get the motivation there, especially as he'd been a stormtrooper for a while before that.

Could be partial consequence, but, she told Ren 'get out of my mind' or whatever - and he stopped. He then tried again and that time while he was trying to get into her head, she got into his. Between that and what Mozzi told her, she can put 2 and 2 together.

I think that that is the point with ren. He's out of control and conflicted. I don't think he's a complete lost cause. We see rage, but uncontrolled rage in general - nothing specific. Nothing cool, calm, collected to show that 'he's in control'. He's being manipulated to this point which is exacerbating it. I think that's the whole point.

Apparently Snoke and Ren are NOT sith. Just dark side users. Is Snoke an inquisitor who got his butt handed to him (hence his condition)? Seems like everyone in film knew who he was, though not necessarily where he came from.

i have read them all and to be honest the young adult novel Lost Stars is the best.

Kyle is a severely damaged and unhinged person. His inner conflict and unpredictability is what makes him frightening. I think Driver did a solid job.
