Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Post-release)

Ok, here's the spill:

Rey is Luke's daughter. We don't know her mom, but that's ok. When Luke gave up on everything following the betrayal he met with Kylo and the other defectors, he left his daughter on a planet knowing she'd be able to survive.

So, Rey and Ben are first cousins. She at least doesn't have to feel THAT weird the first time she kisses him (as I fully suspect will come because she is very partial to kissing.)

She and Leia already have an unspoken bond...

The Graflex is her peace offering to her daddy, Luke...but I'm sure he was aware of her presence since he'd been perched on the cliff like a wise old owl.

Luke will probably be pissed at Kylo after hearing he killed his best friend. I expect a bloody battle, but that won't happen. He'll be all light side and train Rey and she'll save the mass murdering cousin.

Also Kylo is on a track to a self-fulfilling prophecy...he so wants to be like Vader, he doesn't realize his actions are creating a monster. So the mask may be mandatory if he keeps that crap up, along with artificial limbs...I really thought Rey lopped his head off. He's lucky.

And Finn and Rey will fall in love and make lots more Jedi babies.

Wonder if Kylo knows that Vader ended up being redeemed and rejecting the dark side. You'd thing Luke would mention that in his teachings, instead Kylo seems to be ignoring that entire aspect of Vader in his quest to follow in his footsteps.

Wow, wow, wow. Slow down there Reveal Master. TFA is a -1.7 We can agree to disagree on that like Gentlemen but Jedi rules. I know, most die hard fans like ESB best but to me the OT is just one six hour movie anyway but ROTJ rules. Yes the Ewoks were fun but looking back needed to be a little more badass to take on the empire. Yes the Luke/Vader saber fight was way to brief and yes Boba Fett dying that way, so easily, was stupid and at the time it was stupid, but ROTJ is actually my favorite...

I was having some difficulty disagreeing with anything you said about The Force Awakens, and then you went and posted this. Anyone who likes Return of the Jedi more than A New Hope or The Empire Strikes Back is someone I just can't take seriously.

Kidding! Just kidding! I fully support anyone's opinions on any movie regardless of whether I agree or disagree with them. And on that note, I really can't debate any of the comments posted so far about The Force Awakens even if I don't necessarily agree with them. Yes, it has some serious flaws. Yes, it echoes A New Hope a little too closely. Yes, Kylo Ren isn't worthy to spit shine Vader's codpiece (and you can read all of the innuendo into that comment that you want to). And, yes, I want to like it more than I actually do. But I do like The Force Awakens, warts and all, though I'll need to see it again before I can determine how it ranks in comparison to the other six movies. And once we've seen Episodes VIII and IX, I'm hoping it will make more sense in the overall context of the three movies. But at this point in my life I find I have neither the desire nor the energy to get all worked up over movies that don't live up to my personal expectations. Could The Force Awakens have been better? Sure. But it also could have been a lot worse.

I´m a big fan of the OT.I hate Episode 1 and 2.Episode 3 was "ok".And I´m a big Vaderfan.

I cannot understand why some guys are so hard with Kylo Ren in his first movie.
Vader had 3 movies to build up his mythos(and 3 to destroy it...but thats another story).
If you see only ANH,Vader is a "normal" villain with a cool looking mask.But with empire and jedi comes the really cool stuff about him.
Why can´t you give Kylo Ren the same chance?I think TFA was a good start for him.And he had a lot of cool and powerful scenes in the movie.
The dead of his father,the injuries and the lost fight will drag him more and more to the dark side.And it could be that he must wear a similar armor like his grandfather to be the new Vader.
So I think there is a lot of cool stuff for Episode 8.
And the question is...is the OT not the best twist you can use for this movies?Did we want really a complete other story?
The only way to make us hardcorefans complete happy is to clone the Emperor,Vader and let them fight against Luke again.With the Original actors,props and voices.:lol
But thats not what disney wants to became new young fans for the franchise!

Yes it is morphing because all those who liked it are coming in and turning it into the other thread. As stated before, this thread was created so the ones who take issue with the film, can come discuss without trashing your party in the other thread. That was very respectful as nobody wanted to troll that thread and ruin your fun. But now everyone feels the need to come in here and do exactly that. Trying to save arguments I feel keeping them apart was the right choice. But now people are in here posting their ratings of the whole series and telling why the OP is wrong and offering to help him "see the light", lol.

Why not complain about all the other threads popping up like dascoyne's post above with his rating.... I guess posting it in both existing threads wasn't enough and now he stated another one:

And that is appreciated. But my point was that he won't probably complain about other new threads that could merge with the other one, as long as they are all positive towards the film. Most don't like THIS stand alone thread because it draws more attention to some views and doesn't get buried or debated easily :lol

I never thought a resurgent Empire was a good idea at all.
They were done. Defeated. Over. I mean over like the Nazis or Japanese Empire
after WWII. Ain't comin' back. And the OT Characters had been tortured by war enough.
What was the point of the OT at all then? Just keep blowing up gabillion credit death stars I guess
with a few common fighters. The construction unions are SOOOO cleaning up on this right?
Didn't they tell Jr that Granpa was a force angel and good now?
What darkness would that kid have EVER been influenced by? It makes no sense. Should
have been the most loved child in the galaxy nurtured by goodness.
Why would Luke leave his father's remains uncremated?
Sort of the whole point of burning a body. Or did an Ewok run off with it
before it was fully burned, Luke chased him a while but gave up
and the Ewok used it for a drum a few years? LOL

Anyways, Rogue One will probably satisfy me.

As for more episodes, I think I'm going to have to wait for Episode 10 The Fresh Start.
So the faster these come out the better.
