Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Post-release)

I hope you're joking, otherwise you win dumbest post of the year.

no, i'm pretty happy with the accuracy of my post. nothing dumb about it i just have higher standards and not easily amused.

the prequels are actually head and shoulders above this and that is saying something.

Congrats on your high standards even though you're 1000% wrong.

since some of is are acting like the emperor's of the internet and especially for voicing their opinion , I award Zorg the greatest , smartest, and coolest poster in the universe times infinity and full immunity to voice their opinion

by the way TFA is ok movie. Fin's character reminded me of Sam Wiiwicky from the Transformers movies, for reals

Digital version is 4/1 last I heard. Why it gets an earlier release, I don't know.

I've got no problem paying for it and have no desire to download this version since waiting 2 weeks is not hard at all. Still, most people getting this are still buying it. They hit 2B on the screen release, they could give everyone a BR who saw the thing in theaters and still be ahead. That's no excuse to steal it, but it's still true.

The irony is, the blew the downloads through the roof by putting it front page of all media outlets. Had they kept their mouths shut it would have been downloaded substantially less, but by throwing that story it up got loads more people to download it - and worse, figuring out how to download it who didn't know how before. Brilliant move.

Unless you're intentionally going Full Simpsons Comic Book Guy for the sake of irony, it's probably wiser not to use the "worst [thing] ever" phrase.

I think the people that download will know pretty quick. Nobody has to spell it out for them that it's available. I certainly didn't hear about it being available from the news.

The people who don't normally download probably don't because they either don't know how or are afraid that the Anti-Pirating Task Force is going to kick in their door and shoot their dog before confiscating their PC. Plus, just like people who prefer holding a paper book rather than reading a Kindle, there are still people that prefer to have a physical disc rather than a digital download.

Bottom line... in my opinion, nothing has changed.

A little bit of wisdom I was once taught was "You have the right to your opinion, and the right to be wrong."

I feel like that could apply to some people in this thread.

Of course people have a right to their opinions... but when they make statements that have very little basis in reality, they ought to expect some flak.

For example, saying that the prequels are "Head and Shoulders above" TFA is positively ridiculous. The poster may really like thge Prequels... and he may really dislike TFA. but that doesn't change the fact that TFA is widely popular with the majority of people here, and that while most of us acknowledge that TFA has weak points (as ALL films do) we still generally don't regard it as being less well made than the prequels.

There are things in the prequels that i like... i would never completely discard them. However, TFA is far from being beneath the quality of the Prequels.

The point is that it was an inflammatory statement... not just someone sharing their opinion. They had more intent behind it than simply giving their opinion, so it's silly to pretend otherwise. many others here HAVE simply given their opinion...THAT is just fine.
