STAR WARS - Skeleton Crew props & costume

Re watching now there are some great shots right at the entrance at the ship and then fooling around with trying to open the door. Fern’s yellow flash is the least shown..

Smooth finish, same emitter from Energizer/Eveready one. Different end cap.

Quick and dirty draft of a replacement label:

WalkieDraft.png

It's not screen accurate - in fact there's some details intentionally wrong because I might not do a full accurate conversion. Hoping to get my hands on a walkie some point soonish, though - real measurements should help with design. And maybe we'll see more reference images, too.

This little one is on exhibit at LFL headquarters...maybe someone could go and take great photos. I would love to create a conversion kit to 3d print. I scored a pair last week. They will take a while to arrive to Argentina, but there is a 3d model from the walkies already there to print or use as base.
Awesome, I'll be keen on some files, I was going to hand sculpt the antenna piece but now I'll wait as I'm waiting on a pair coming (y)

I already have my first Skeleton Crew Collectable.

Picked this up in Epcot in 1989… I just knew.

When I saw that little guy I thought that he looked very familiar.

It was like he was brand new. But I’d seen him somewhere else too.

Thank you.

Though I referred to it as a him, it could be a lady creature as well.

Are they called to toriods? I just recently learned about these to stop the air plane frequency from interfering with my camera mic when filming

I've looked at a bunch of antennas over the last few days and haven't seen a match.
I think the antenna design is meant to look like an insulator, but is actually just greeblies.

It's a plain telescoping antenna, maybe Realistic or some other brand that collapses into a stacked cone shape.
The other two added cones might be a cable stop or shaft collar. Piece shown here is a cord grip used to secure the end of an electrical cord (side hole is for a plastic set screw).
Hard to tell what the top piece could be. I assume they snipped the original top off to slide the cone pieces on and stuck on a new greeblie.

PS - I wasn't sure if I was going to make this prop, but picked up a single walkie in new condition for $7.50 :)
