STAR WARS Rebels new animated series!

Found this on the net:

http://www.halloweencostumes.com/star-wars-rebels-deluxe-child-zeb-costume.html

It's not the costume, but what appears to be a Zeb's weapon that will also be made available. I'm interested to see if it has any potential for mods into a decent replica.

found a better shot:

Another take on the whole "Does Obi-Wan know Vader is Anakin and that he survived?" discussion is that maybe in the next couple of episodes Asoka tells him. Directly or indirectly through contacts or a secret Jedi website.

Cool thought.

Honestly? The more this show connects to the clone wars, the better it will be. There are plenty of links to the OT.

I would love a visit to tattooine

That doesn't actually make sense.

He agreed to be the clone template as revenge against the Jedi? But the clones were for the Jedi (there's no way that palpatine would have let him into the overall plan. Sometimes I'm not even sure if dooku knew about his alter ego)

Yeah that would be the only flaw in that, that Sidious wouldn't have let it out what he intended to do. However, if Jango did hate the Jedi then he would never have told anyone either. Of course since Jango was training the clones, he would probably know about the contingency orders, that same as the Jedi were. The Jedi just dismissed Order 66 because they thought they would never need to use it. If that was true that Jango knew though, his comment to Obi Wan of "They'll do their job well..." would be pretty chilling.

Not until the fall, maybe Sept.

I kind of hate this modern TV schedule. Nick Turtles does this thing where they wait for weeks before airing four new episodes. by the time it comes back, you forget what happened last time. whatever happened to showing 26 episodes 26 weeks straight with summer breaks?

For what it's worth, IMDB has the next episode listed as simply SEP 2015. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2930604/episodes?season=2&ref_=tt_eps_sn_2

That's not exactly what is happing in this case. I believe Siege at Lothal was marketed as a Season 2 Telemovie. The same way Spark of the Rebellion was a Season 1 telemovie. Although IMDB lists that as E1S1 and is sold as part of the upcoming boxset, it did not count agains the 13 Episode 1st season. I suspect the Siege may be considered the same as well.

This season is going to be a full season. Not sure if they officially announced the number of episodes but:
...According to Freddie Prinze, Jr., the season will contain "nearly twice as many episodes" as season one...
So with more episodes, I suspect you will see a pretty continuous flow of episodes starting in the fall and going through spring with the usual hiatus for the holiday and maybe a couple gaps for various other reasons.

It's never been that way as far as I know. Most networks did their shoes in this broken up manner because there are fewer episodes per season than there are weeks in a season. Then there's the whole sweeps week thing where many networks try to work it out so that they'll have what they feel is a really good episode to air during sweeps week. It's really only relatively recently that some networks (mainly cable networks) have taken to air their shows week after week with no breaks in between, but, obviously, some prefer to adhere to the traditional methods of airing shows and spread the episodes all throughout as much of the season as they can.

Now that looks to be more like a frigate sized vessel, unlike the medical frigate.

Well it depends on the era. ;) (Because it was also used as a medical frigate back in the day.)

Here is the canon info listed on Wookieepedia regarding the Pelta Class Frigate: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Pelta-class_frigate/Canon

The Pelta-class frigate,[1] also known as the Republic medical frigate,[6] was a model of frigate manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards.[1] During the Clone Wars, they were used by the Republic Navy to safely ferry injured Clones to a medical station for treatment.[7]
During the Age of the Empire, the Rebel network repurposed one Pelta-class frigate, which they named Phoenix Home, as a Rebel capital ship.[1]

Here is what StarWars.com Databank says about Phoenix Home: http://www.starwars.com/databank/phoenix-home-rebel-capital-ship

[h=3]PHOENIX HOME (REBEL CAPITAL SHIP)[/h]The capital ship of a rebel collective, Phoenix Home was a large Pelta-class frigate with a crew of 900. It was under the command of Jun Sato, who welcomed the Ghost rebels onto his ship and into his fleet. Phoenix Home, manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards, was heavily armored and featured turbolasers and point-defence laser cannons. But that mattered little when Darth Vader tracked the Lothal rebels to the larger fleet. The Sith Lord decimated Phoenix Squadron with his TIE Advanced, and destroyed Phoenix Home.

I guess the size of frigates has grown immensely in the years since the Pelta was designed and when the Nebulon Bs were because the Nebulons look much larger although I can't find any dimensions on the Pelta. Going by crew size they might be around the same size but it's also possible that the Nebulon B is more automated or has fewer crew because much more of it is devoted to medical facilities, at least in the medical frigate role.

I would have to believe that no matter what era we are talking about, frigates are built to various sizes and would be dictated by various different needs. i know this is a lame example: it's like a truck.. A truck can be the size of a pickup or a semi. Just because you see a pickup truck in 1970, does not mean there were not semis. And just because you see a semi in 2015, it does not mean there are not pickups... And vice-versa. The size of the truck you want is based on your need. Are you hauling containers of freight or are you hauling a push lawnmower?

Here re is another frigate from the clone war era: http://www.starwars.com/databank/republic-frigate

Frigate has always been more of a role than a size cateory. Traditionally, a frigate is the smallest vessel capable of operating autonomously and not as part of a fleet. This doesn't count point-A-to-point-B vessels like corvettes or shuttles, that can operate over long distances. I mean go out, and stay out doing things. They tend to be more single-purpose than a larger cruiser or ship-of-the-line. Destroyers tend to be gun platforms to augment fleet operations, and little else.

That last bit was a segue, by the way, to address the term "Star Destroyer". Some over the years have interpreted it as syonymous with "space destroyer", as in a destroyer-type ship in a space navy. These are also the folks who coined the term "star dreadnought" to refer to the Executor-class command ships. As far back as I can remember, though, I heard it as "destroyer of stars" -- the same sort of hyperbolic Imperial nomenclature that gave us the Death Star. Han specifically referred to them as "Imperial cruisers", and that's good enough for me. Cruisers are good multirole, independently-operating vessels, generally the next size tier up from frigates. So that gives us a good bookend the other way.

What is a frigate in Star Wars? Bigger than a corvette, smaller than a Star Destroyer. :D

Ok now I have to complain that is says it was made by KDY when the front of the ship, along with the bridge, clearly mirrors a Blockade Runner and Consular-class Cruiser, made by Corellian Engineering Corp.

I can go and look thought out the history of various countries' militaries and see similarities in designs for ships, aircraft, tanks, and other gear and craft where you can draw distinct similarities in their designs yet they have different manufactures. I would assume the reason is because their is something efficient that lends to designers building to those similarities. Could very well be the case here.

Then again there is always the tendency to copy designs from other companies that do well. Remember when a lot of the cars in the 80's had flip up headlights? It was a big thing, now it's not.
