STAR WARS Rebels new animated series!

Not much of a teaser but I like the animation. Narrator is from disney channel so I'm sure he's not going to be part of it. At least it has a star destroyer in it.lol.

In anticipation of Lucasfilm’s STAR WARS REBELS panel at New York Comic Con (Saturday, October 12, 2013; 2:45 PM 3:45 PM; Location: Empire Stage 1-E), Hasbro unveils the packaging treatment for its STAR WARS REBELS 3.75-inch action figure line supporting the upcoming animated series.

It is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world. As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people. But there are a select few who are brave enough to stand up against the endless Stormtroopers and TIE fighters of the Empire: the clever and motley crew of the starship Ghost. Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, have thrilling adventures, and become heroes.

'Star Wars Rebels': NYCC exclusive! | Inside TV | EW.com

We still don’t know very much about Star Wars Rebels, the animated spinoff set between prequel and original trilogies. We know it will premiere in fall 2014 with a one-hour special on the Disney Channel, which segues into a series on Disney XD. And big news is expected from the Rebels panel that is taking place tomorrow afternoon at New York Comic Con.
To tide you over until then, EW is excited to share with you an exclusive piece of propaganda art that will appear on the show. The art depicts three stormtroopers and is designed in a nifty retro-Soviet style. The poster has some words written in the language of Aurebesh. (Special no-prize to the first person who can translate it!) Could the poster contain some deeper hints about Rebels? Maybe it will star Davin Felth? Probably not, but can’t us Davinheads dream?

I'm actually more excited about this than the sequels(well maybe) because I liked the Clone Wars much more than the prequels so I know they can put together a good show.

NYCC 2013: MEET THE INQUISITOR, THE NEW FACE OF EVIL IN STAR WARS REBELS
October 11, 2013

The next great villain from a galaxy far, far away is here. Fans attending Lucasfilm's Star Wars Rebels panel today at New York Comic Con got the world's first look at the Inquisitor, a black-clad, intimidating figure who will play a prominent role in the upcoming animated series. In a special video (available below) screened at the end of the panel, Star Wars Rebels executive producer Dave Filoni officially revealed the character, showing a sculpted maquette, design sketches, and disclosing that the Inquisitor is "tasked by Darth Vader to hunt down the remaining Jedi Knights."

The panel, hosted by Lucasfilm's Pablo Hidalgo, focused on the Empire and how it is central to the story of Star Wars Rebels. Hidalgo revealed that the series takes place about 14 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, a time in which the Emperor's rule is secure and the Empire is seeking to expand its power to Outer Rim territories. That leads Imperial forces to Lothal, a poor planet that initially welcomes the Empire on the promise of security and prosperity. It soon becomes obvious, however, that the Empire does not have Lothal's best interests at heart, as the Imperials exploit its people and begin recruiting young citizens to join TIE fighter and Stormtrooper academies, or to work in the Sienar Fleet Systems factory -- which builds TIE fighters -- in the planet's capital. Hidalgo showed new art focusing on Lothal, including the planet itself, a town, and alleyways, as well as an Empire recruitment poster.

The show is fully embracing the Star Wars legacy, taking direct inspiration from the original trilogy and its concept artist Ralph McQuarrie. Hidalgo displayed new Star Wars Rebels imagery and animation models for Stormtroopers, Star Destroyers, TIE fighters, and TIE fighter pilots, all of which fit seamlessly with classic Star Wars. Additionally, Hidalgo introduced several new Imperial vehicles and designs created for the series: the All Terrain Defense Pod (AT-DP), a ground attack walker based on an early Joe Johnston (the filmmaker who designed Boba Fett's armor and speeder bikes, and made other major contributions to Star Wars) illustration from 1979; the new AT-DP pilot, which blends designs of the classic AT-AT walker driver from Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back and the AT-ST walker pilot from Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi; the Imperial Troop Transport, which comes from an early Kenner toy that was actually not based on designs from the films; and the Imperial freighter, a reimagining of an Imperial-style craft designed for Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace by concept artist Doug Chiang, featuring a dock to transport TIE fighters from system to system.

If anything was made clear at today's panel, it's that the Empire is back -- thanks to Star Wars Rebels.

Star Wars Rebels is set to debut on Disney XD in 2014. Stay tuned to StarWars.com for more on this highly anticipated animated series.

Video was interesting, but I don't like that they have obviously modeled the TIE Fighter after the Kenner version with stubby wings. I did like the concept Scout Walker (Joe Johnston's?). Not sure about this Inquisitor dude. Wasn't that Vader's job? Unless this guy was a former Jedi, I don't know where they'd get someone so fast that could be a match for any Jedi.

From what is being reported, the TIE design as a lot of the things you will see is based off Ralph McQuarrie concept art.

The reason is that they are using his art work as designs that exist prior to what we see in ANH.

Personally, I would like to have seen this show start after the last of the purge. From what I am seeing so far, this show should have been called "Empire". Except for that Corellian ship, every thing else that has been shown in art and trailers is Empire. But just because I'm not seeing what I want, I have a lot of faith in Dave Filoni and his group. They told an amazing story with CW with a lot of levels and entertaining to young and old.

Not digging the troopers....they look like Galactic Heroes figures.
And do I see a mix of 2D drawing for the guy and CG for the troopers? Mmkay.

From the promotional photos being released, this series looks exactly as I expected Off and wrong, or in other terms to Disney. its perfect for the planned cross over with Phineaus and Ferb, However in no way on par with the animation of the clone wars. In good news the remaining episodes are completed for The Clone wars season 6 and are still planned for release in 2014. hopefully somewhere every fan of the series can enjoy them and not on iTunes

The Addition of "New Siths" to the cannon is just off, Vader hunted down the remaining Jedi, only other sith or apprentice was Jade and that would be a good addition to this show have her hunting down the fledgling rebellion as Vader is off killing Jedi
