Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi (tv series)

This. Even with the same exact episodes we got, not writing them any more subtly about being back-door pilots and I wouldn’t mind as long as there were more episodes. As it stands, almost every episode in S2 is a back-door pilot.
Thar may have been directed from above. Wasnt it just before or after s2 they announced that barrage of shows?

It is so strange that the Marvel team delivers with each show. Each of them are like a very long movie, with exciting characters and drama, and they all add to the overall picture. The best of them is that they give background characters the possibility to shine. Why are the Star Wars life-action shows so weird? Mando season 1 was the blueprint and despite its flaws (mostly runtime) it moved into the right direction. Season 2 felt very rushed at times but still was very entertaining. Then comes Boba and we see an icon doing nothing.

Obi-Wan has one advantage: The show is set between the PT and the OT and has no ties to Mando or grown-up Boba (except for the Starfighter that might show up eventually). It is much more bound to the movies and I really hope that they do it right this time and allow him to continue his journey (and do not confine him to train another Padawan in hiding - we have already seen that). Anyway, I'm really looking forward to watching it. :)

Let's say that The Tantive IV gets away clean, and Vader isn't chasing them. Leia obviously thinks that Obi Wan is leaving with her. Does he abandon Luke to go with Leia? If the answer is yes, then we've just opened the door for him leave Tatooine for missions of sufficient importance.

Even though the book is canon it seems F&F are picking and choosing what stays.. with that said there is a book that has yoda and obiwan talking over the wifi force while in hiding and yoda insists that leia should be trained first she is the choose one

Was luke orcleia supposed to be the choden one? Havent seen rots since the theater so i dont recall it being overtly stated. If not the obi is keeping a kid safe no more no less. Even if they sre the chosen - mega plot hole in not training him at all by the age of 18 or so. Aunt and Uncle could NOT have prevented it.

No training for Luke, no magic tricks or waving lightsabers in front of him. Luke may have heard of the Jedi but the first direct contact with the Force etc. takes place in ANH. Everything else disobeys the timeline.

Right but it does seem to be implied that Uncle Owen and Ben hard talked about the possibility of training and they disagreed. Also Luke had met Ben before ANH.

But yes, Ben cannot teach Luke anything about the Jedi.

Yes to all you said. Luke knows Obi but apparently he was not very close to him all the time. Maybe Obi offered to train him but Owen declined because he feared he would become "another Vader" (Obi trained Anakin and failed). Owen would forbid Obi to ever meet Luke again and chase him off the farm.

4.R5D4 to get a back story
Maybe because Rogue One was the first time we came back to the original era of that Universe - and maybe because I never expected anything like R1 to ever happen, but since then, I've been imagining all sorts of stuff, including an old Ben in the distance "popping" R5-D4's motivator with a wave of the hand.

That being said, with the SW de-aging process now being (much) improved, I wouldn't be surprised if:

A) we saw young Luke again, prior to the events of ANH
B) we saw an aged Ewan McGregor blended-in with Alec Guiness

I was excited about this show until.....<takes a deep breath>...the space-vespa episode...but now I'm not sure what to expect.

I didn't think I'd need to manage my expectations, especially with the finances backing these shows, but here we are. Managing our expectations.

Sigh.

The point was that if he or leia were chosen ones they should have been trained from a very early age. They werent. If they were THAT important obi should hsve raised him himself or something.

Just a major plot hole created by the PT.

The never leaving thing is a fan creation based on the thought they ate the only o es who can beat him. $5 says bail left leia with othets all the time being a senator but thats ok i guess.

I don't like the idea of a prophecy or a chosen one. I know it's a trope in these types of stories but it often ends up robbing the characters of agency and so much emphasis is put on it. Add the ever changing nature of who in fact is The One and it loses all meaning.

You got to give Disney kudos for not wanting to wasting an opportunity...

Maybe he can show Luke how to shoot Wamp Rats in his T16..

Come on as a teen luke woukd then seek ben out. Being a jedi master obi could sneak in a talk to him or pull him aside in town or whatever. That owen had that power is far fetched.
