That's the thing. Having Leia actually being the "Chosen One" and having her be the one who was originally to be trained as a Jedi makes no sense whatsoever. It rectonns the entire OT.

Why would Obi-Wan send Leia off to Bail Organa and watch over Luke if he and Yoda originally intended to train Leia? That makes absolutely no sense. I love Leia as a character, but the OT was Luke's story. No matter how bad Disney wants to erase Luke's prominence from the series or his popularity, those three movies centered on him, otherwise George would have written Leia as the central protagonist. So I don't care if this new idea is George's or Disney's but there's only so much revisionist storytelling that can honestly be taken seriously when all it does is undermine the foundation this entire thing was built on. Star Wars was built on Luke Skywalker. It grew from there with new characters with different arcs, but to ignore the origins of this franchise and openly try and change them as if fans "misunderstood the orginal vision" is laughable.

As much as I participate in these discussions I don't actually watch the movies that often but I watched ANH today for the first time in years, and Leia was a supporting character. The movie is called A New Hope. Singular. Meaning Luke. Not Leia. I know Disney hates that. I know some fans hate that, but those are the facts.

Not to mention that Luke and Leia were never originally siblings until ROTJ so how could that have been the "original vision?" Again whether that's George's need for revisionism or Disney's hatred of male protagonists, its just another stupid idea in a sea of stupid ideas.

I went to see StarWars in 77 at the Cinema, not heard of this A New hope is it a New movie ?

I hated the Add On title..and the fact it became No4 WTF!
Why not keep it as OG 1 in that particular trilogy..

I try my best to just call it Star Wars because that's it's name, but I when I do call it ANH it's merely to differentiate it from the other films in the series given that they all go by Star Wars as a general title. So it's more for clarification than anything else.

Ditto and yeah if your dealing with different age groups forums its easier to identify for sure..
It always looks funny with the screen crawl at the beginning to me but hey I'm getting on lol..
Its like loosung your car keys...did I forget it was called that lol..

Then it should be the Chosen Ones. Yet we all know Rey is the One in the end.
They could put that on billboards everywhere, write songs about it, make it required a response to prove citizenship or even to submit our taxes and the answer to who is the chosen one will NEVER under any circumstances be Rey. Not that I feel strongly about it.
