Hi Danny,
I was looking at the pics in the thread and had some questions about a couple of the details.
Here's a comp between your prototype shot and the magazine cover photo.
On the magazine cover shot, the bottom of the upper right pocket appears to pretty much sit in-line with
the middle small rectangle (magnet?). On the prototype, the bottom of the pocket is higher.
The tops of both the upper right pocket and the three small pouches on the left side are nearly at the same level,
while on the prototype, there seems to be more spacing.
The top of the lower left pocket appears to be nearly in-line with the bottom of the middle small rectangle on the magazine
photo. On the proto, it's lower.
I hope you take these comments as constructive, as the proto looks really great!
I understand that the proto is on a mannequin
and Ford is wearing the real jacket, and the angles aren't identical, but I'm pretty stoked about the possibility of owning a replica
of this jacket and you know how obsessed we are around here about details. :lol

@superjedi nice work on the comparison, but also note that the jacket is not hanging right if you look at the collar,
one side is lower which will make your lines align better, but you right accuracy is everything here and I am sure
that Danny is the same and the final product will be spot on.

Thanks Superjedi, You hit on a few things I noticed as well after pulling up reference pics. I had done this one but have had internet issues of late so never had a chance to post.
Most noticeable is the placement of all pockets are incorrect. As you spotted the top breast pocket should indeed line up with the pouches. That's just a good design element to anchor things together for visual appeal.
The long pocket underneath that one should be much taller as noted. The pocket on the other side needs to move up higher to just below the center magnet.
The magnets themselves are spaced incorrectly and should have the same distance in between them. The storm flaps also need widening and should be the same width as the collar. I already noted the collar attachment issue in my previous post. It needs to join the chest, not cut into it.
I've no real time this week so my comp is a rough one. My comments are not meant to be negative. Just the opposite. I would really like this to turn out great as I'd definitely consider picking one up. Keeping an eye on this to see how it turns out.

I emailed Danny a bunch of things to fix as well (such as the missing vertical stitching-stripes on the left shoulder, the "decorative" turn-down seams on the shoulders shouldn't be there and that the front sleeve panel should be one piece) and from what I can tell he's doing his best to see all irregularities get ironed out. All of these things are easy fixes and this is a simple enough jacket... not like the Star Lord jacket, which is a nightmare to repro.
I know, but it makes it hard to want to sign up for one when it's unclear if things are still being tweaked without updates. I almost bought the Starlord trench coat he was doing but there were a number of things that never were adjusted from the prototype. Hoping this will be worked out closer with some visuals to show what he has been modifying. For all of the people ordering already I'm surprised none of these comments have been made as some are pretty obvious and should be easily altered ( I used to do patterns)..

I made a number of these comments directly to Danny a month ago, and he has been working on correcting them.
That's great! I look forward to seeing what he's been doing with it. But since no one posted any of their thoughts on the thread itself it appeared as if everyone was fine with what is currently shown. Any reason why not to share your thoughts here as well as in private so we could see what is already being looked at in regards to pattern updating? I'd much rather read through and see point blank what's already on the scope for alterations. I wouldn't have posted at all about discrepancies had I known you guys had voiced it previously.

Long story short, I did;t want to sound like I was bashing the jacket, because let's face it, even the prototype is awesome. With the tweaks this thing is going to be perfect. (I figured he'd update the thread with what he was working on)

Yeah, this was my thinking too. The prototype looks great, and it's awesome that someone is putting in the work to bring this to the community. :thumbsup
The thing is... this jacket is simple to replicate (especially compared to both Star Lord jackets), so Danny should have no trouble getting it very close. I was just looking around on the net and (as usual) other makers are getting it completely wrong and ignoring blatantly obvious details. I recall seeing what appeared to be a licensed "high end" maker offering it... also completely off.
is it too late to jump on this list? I'm interested if there is still room in this project

Hi Danny, I Pm'd about a deliver date on this jacket, how does it work with your runs?? Do you need the rest of the interested parties to pay to get a run going?
Basically Im just asking if we have to wait for the rest of the list to get the run started?

You know, until you posted this it hadn't even occurred to me to look around anywhere else for a replica of this jacket.
I did some Googling and what I found. . . didn't look very good at all. As you said, just a sort of "impression" of the
jacket, rather than a detailed replica. Very glad I got in on this run!

I have seen a few repro jackets with this detail, but I have yet to find a reference pic of the screen used jacket with this. Do you have any pics of what you're talking about?
