Star Wars Credits and Coinage - References and Recreation

Muddler: When you can ship again to Canada or US, whichever shipping is cheaper...I’m in on some Flan...some of the orange republic Credits, octagonal crystal coin and crystal vertex to complete my Sabacc collection.
BTW the stuff I already bought and is on display gets amazing comments every time new SW fans come to the WEG RPG games at the homestead.

None of the links in that article are active. Trying to get an idea of what the credit is going to look like that comes with those figures.

Another place with photos...

I have some photos of the coins in the que line for the Falcon ride at Galaxy's Edge in Hollywood Studios. I know there are some other coins scattered through the whole land, but I haven't been back to scout for them all thanks to the stupid Covid.

Shipping to the US is finally possible again!
The German Postal Service just announced that running times might currently a bit longer than usual - but at least they are accepting shipped goods!

Also wanted to let you know that I gave a shot at the Canto Bight Casino Chips.
I was a bit hesitant at first, because I personally don't like the whole Casino-sequence that much, but the prop itself is pretty interesting in its overall design. And handling them around is actually quite fun.
Here's what I got:

My primary reference:

I've heard that the actual props were produced in three sizes (1,5", 2" and 2,5" as far as I know). I started with the midsized ones which matched best with my other coins. Don't know yet, if I'll find the time to do the other versions, too...

Hello there! Being curious here: has anyone ever attempted to reproduce the various credit tokens that went with the different iterations of the Star Wars Monopoly?

There's also a tear-shaped Bespin coin, but I have yet to find good images of it. (Of course, I suppose the simplest way to recreate any of those would be to acquire genuine specimens and somehow take an impression.)

I have all the coins except for the second one. That one came with first edition The Phantom Menace board game.

The top one is from the first edition of the Star Wars board game.

The other two coins and the Bespin coin are from the first edition CD ROM game.

While I do have mine displayed with my Sabacc cards, I don’t think they hold up to the canon coins / credits we have seen in movies and shows mainly because of the standard text and the company branding. Now if someone was to be inspired by these coins and remake them idealized with Aurebesh text, you might have something interesting.

The lack of Aurebesh is not necessarily a problem, because the Roman alphabet is also canonical in the SW universe (as "High Galactic"). The company branding, on the other hand, is indeed problematic.

I know they're not canon, but I'll still remain a huge Legends fan, what can I say? ^-^ (And the Imperial Palace as a Gothic pyramid totally beats the repurposed Jedi Temple.) At any rate, it is not illogical to think that the appearance of credit coins may have varied a lot, not just over time, bu even throughout Republic/Imperial space.

My point is that if someone were to go through the process of recreating these coins, you might as well tweak it. The basics of the designs can easily be recreated on a computer and submitted to a professional manufacture. You would get a better product than trying to recast an original IMHO.

If you like the originals, then just keep an eye out on eBay for sales, or you can offer me ”a lot“ of money and you can have mine.

Too bad there's no better shot of the golden ones. Here's from another point of view, out of scope but with better lighting that might help identify the colors. It's the same scene but some shots back, actually looks like a different pile.

Hi,

I found a short scene in SW I, where Anakin is giving his Mother Money after the Pod Race.
Unfortunately the photo i made isn't good. Perhaps one of you can make a better one.

The Money pieces look like golden metal bars - quite like the imperial and post-imperial republican Credit chips in "Rebels" and "Resistance".
But the sound and the colour is not transparent yellow plastic, it is golden metal.

Who can give more details?

Here's some full-res screenshots from the latest 4KHDR version, miserably DNR'd, and then some from a 35mm scan:
