Star Wars blu ray in September

The Jedi were arrogant and short sighted. Maybe its just me, but a lot of faults Palpatine pointed out regarding the Jedi were very true. Even in ESB a ROTJ, Yoda and OB1 didnt have things quite right. Its Luke who set it all straight. To me the message is balance. Everyone has a little dark side here and there, but extremes in any direction are no good.

Thus did Luke destroy all the evil representations of the force leaving it unbalanced once again. Taaa-daaaa...

Well I'd be down for untouched if it were 1080p.

Trying to watch the laserdisc transfers in 480p on an HDTV is terrible.

Yes, I'd be okay with that. A 1080 un-retouched.

I still watch them on my 65" TV off the Laserdiscs. They look exactly as I have always seen them.

Okay I really liked that article. I'm glad this wasn't some lame ported over 2004 release thing it once appeared to be. Still boggled why they made the trailer to the Blu-ray from the 2004 footage??? That's very deceptive!

"Some of the issues come from these movies being finished for film and projected for film, and that's how people saw them. A lot of things that look a little different on HD or DVD are really the nature of how video treats color space," explains Huebler. A dramatic example of this came up in the 2004 DVD release, with the dimming of the lightsaber cores throughout the trilogy, even to the point where Luke's lightsaber aboard the Millennium Falcon shifted from blue to green in Episode IV.

I can't believe they're blaming the lightsaber screw up on the HD transfer.

I'm bummed that there is not a lot of retailers are offering swag to lure buyers. The only one listed so far is Best Buy. They offer a cell frame of ROTS with pre-pay. I'll pass.

On the list of "If they asked me what to include as disc extra" I would love it if they included the Boba Fett cartoon from the Holiday Special. I always liked it and the fact that you have a cartoon using the voices of the actual actors is a rare treat.

Wha-? He replaced the hideous Yoda in PM with a cg one? Sacrilege. Cheating. Or as one comment put it (on the site linked to in the post above), and it stands for the whole of L's endless revisionism: 'Stop picking that scab or it'll get infected!' (too late, actually - it's already a gangrenous, suppurating open sore)

I'll stick with my laserdisc transfers onto DVD. They've served me for nearly 10 years and surely will much longer. It's the way I prefer them for owning.

And for what it's worth I just keep the versions of the OT that "SPIKE" runs from time to time on my DVR.

I pre-ordered the Blu-ray... I pretty much just did it in hopes of getting a better/clearer look at the B-wing pilots. Heh, I'm a B-wing nut. :lol

anticipating the internet release just to see what george has changed now.......
