Star Trek XI Rubie's Costumes - NOW ONLINE

They're recent star wars stuff was blue and orange and the Indy pistol was bright red IIRC.
Here's a photo of Rubies' Indiana Jones pistol:

Realistic, ain't it? :confused

Oh, it's horrible to be sure :lol There's no way Rubies would release a decent, realistic gun props :rolleyes

I was mainly using as an example of the gawdy colors that Rubies likes to use.

Many companies had to go to those gaudy colors schemes in order to show that these were toys rather than a realistic prop.

I believe in the UK and other European countries you cannot even ship a realistic looking prop anymore and they have to be mostly orange or yellow.

So much for realistic weapon props! Bloody terrorists! Putting the hurt on our collections!

Thank goodness for paints and being able to mod these toys!

In Canada a gun like the Indy one would be prohibited due to its realistic size and shape (unless it's actually much more undersized than it looks). Brightly coloured plastic makes no difference.

The paranoia over "realistic replicas" is so outrageous here that something like an assault phaser could be seized as a replica firearm when going through customs. :rolleyes

I for one won't hold my breath on anything Rubies makes. Thier stuff sometimes looks OK in photos, and much worse in person.
I have said it before, thank god for the RPF, because here we have talented people who will go the extra mile to make quality, accurate replicas for fans.
In the defense of poor Rubies, they are not a 'replica' company - they make costumes and costume accesories, which for thier purpose, fall under the standards of a Halloween grade costume.
Collectors and fans like us have to rely on other sources to obtain truly movie-quality products.
If a seller here offers accurate, quality new movie shirts for $150 I would rather pay that than get a Rubies 'just to have the shirt' - because for real fans, sometimes the off-the-shelf products just don't cut it.
I'm sure someone with even a strict budget here can come up with something better than Rubies.

Ah Rubies. The best place to go for canon fodder costumes if you want to simulate some sorta battle damage and don't want to rip your good costume to pieces.

I've gotten onto the phone with my friends at Warp-One.co.uk and I'm trying to convince them to make some.
If anyone has a costume from them, you know they do a good job.

So folks! May is right around the corner! Where are said RPF costume makers of said ST XI? Or are we going to have to resort to this dribble...Rubie's?:eek

here are some close up pix and a few other interesting Items!!:lol
