Star trek: The next generation 25 anniversary

So I'm on season 3 at the moment. It's pretty unanimous that this is when TNG hit its stride, but its also when a major change was made to the lighting. I'm absolutely amazed at how much the picture pops. I can't take my eyes off of some of these costumes. There's so much detail in them that disappeared in SD. The recomposited effects look great, thus far. I had just finished The Enemy. I was surprised with Galorndon Core. The set (planet hell) used to be a black blur. Now it shimmers in the light. The newly uncompressed, remixed sound is amazing. As the atmosphere crackled and exploded over my surround sound, it felt like I was there.

It's just amazing how much can be seen now... And you realize how much went into costume design, props and sets. Even something as simple as a fork makes me go "wow!"

Watching this now also makes me wish I had more considered getting Anovos' TNG costumes. The screen used costumes look quite impressive in HD.

I think they will be offered at different times of the year so keep checking their site

The latest I read was not again till next year... But that DOES mean I could plan for it better... Besides, I've still got my TOS...

I'm curious how good the next re-release of TNG will look since they're doing the rescanning at 4K resolution :)

Just realized that the rest of the crew who aren't named characters are wearing season 1-2 uniforms, and we get a sneak peak at the future DS9/Voyager uniform design.

Yeah. The new uniforms cost 3,000$ a piece to construct. For budget reasons, they had to be gradually phased in. It's actually not all that uncommon from a real world standpoint for that to happen with uniforms... But then again, in the Star Trek 24th century universe, new clothes can be made in a matter of seconds...

Also note that the first versions of the new uniforms had a seam in the middle of the chest panel, and those were also gradually replaced with single-piece panels.

If anyone has the Best of Both Worlds BluRay, be sure to keep watching the menu animations. There's a little something extra that comes up after the clip of Geordi rolling underneath the engineering hatch.

Thanks for the tip :)
Pretty awesome they also included a commentary and that half hour documentary

Another tip

If you're planning on picking up both Season 4 and the "Redemption" BluRay, be sure to pick it up at Target. Not only will you get them at the same sale price as Best Buy, they'll shave an additional $10 off if you buy them together. I literally spent $67.39 on both at Target when the sale price for Season 4 alone at Best Buy was 69.99. Yep. You're essentially getting Season 4 at a cheaper price and the Redemption BluRay for free. And like the Best of Both Worlds BluRay, it comes with extras not present on the Season 4 set.

Haven't bought a single season so far. Won't until all 7 have been released at the earliest. I'm fairly sure we don't have Target in Sweden :p nor Best Buy

But thanks for the tip either way, the exclusive extras are a must :)

Term, I know. I just worded it all wrong. That post was not meant to be a direct response meant for just you. I used "another tip" and "If you're planning" because I thought I was talking to folks who were planning on buying the sets in the states.

Borjis over at TrekBBS posted some videos from the After Dark Screen Saver of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
