Star Trek: Ships of the Line

Does anyone own this book? I'm thinking about ordering it online, but am wondering how extensive the pictures/descriptions are.

It has written commentary by Mike Okuda (which is a huge plus) and the cover image is definitely drool-worthy, but I'm wondering if there are any unreleased images and/or schematics. The price is really affordable so I might just get it anyhow (list price $19.95), but if it's not a unique resource for details I'll probably pass.

Can anyone weigh in?

It´s a nice book. No schematics, but lots of pictures. Some are very nice, some are just decent with a rather distinct CG look. The cover is one of the best pics. But for the price, it´s a nice buy.

I don't mind the CG look so much... but were the images made exclusively for the 'Ships of the Line' book/calender? Or are they just recycled images from the show/promos/etc.? Also, do you know the overall size of the book?

This is probably a long shot, but does anyone know how to get in contact with Mike and/or Denise Okuda? I tried finding his/her site, but to no avail. If I could get a signed copy, I'd definitely throw down the cash. :D

I thumbed through the book last night for about half an hour. Tons of nice pix, little on the descriptive end. Like the "Ships of the Line" calendars, but lots more. Check with Amazon or other discounters. I'd hoped the book was larger in dimension, but it's still pretty nice.

I didn't even know that book existed. I Checked around online and Overstock.com and (as almost always) it has this the cheapest at $12.89. Looks like another thing I need to order. :D

After waiting for this book for four-years, many false starts, cancellations, and abortive attempts. I'm just glad to have it in it's small format, disapointing content, etc....

Glad to have it.

So the Enterprise E is smaller than the D?
[/b]

Yep, they went smaller, leaner, meaner for the "E". It's meant to be more of a Borg fighter than galaxy expolorer.

Mike posts occasionally over at TrekBBS in the Trek Tech subforum. Might give that a try...
