Star Trek Into Darkness (Pre-release)

Yep. Five times now. And I had seen it when I posted that quote you pettily went back to dig up.

Sure played like an act of desperation to me.

Attacks are still attacks. We're three for three films now where the bad guy attacks Earth.

I haven't seen this yet, but did snoop around in the spoilers thread. Don't know if I should drop $5.00 on it or wait until the DVD comes out in a few weeks!

Deciding to not see a film because of spoilers you've read is like deciding to not listen to a song because someone told you a few of the notes.

Unless it's from an artist you're not a big fan of to begin with....

I stand behind my analogy.
Even if your "not a big fan" of an artist," and someone tells you a few notes of their new song ... what does that tell you about how they are used in the song? Nothing.

Raw spoiler statemtents will NEVER reflect their context in a visual narrative.

I'll agree with that! I keep forgetting that this is not real Trek anyway, just an "Idealized" replica....

Some of the visuals are quite impressive. Maybe not TWOK's "Mutara nebula battle" impressive, but still nice. Would definitely look better on the big screen than TV.

What if it's Justin Beaver doing a Beatles toon - he changed a few words too just to "keep it relatable".

That's more like not watching a film directed by Michael Bay based on a popular cartoon/toy franchise.

Wait, I actually liked the first Transformers. One more try:
It's more like not watching a film based on a book by Stephanie Meyers.

There we go. I have few principles, but I stick to those I have, which include avoiding anything preteens get wet over.

you mean it's like not watching an eclipse while listening to New Kids on the Block blindfolded with one hand feeding a horse.
