Star Trek Into Darkness (Pre-release)

So what did the Klingon's do just park the Narada near Rura Penthe for 25 years while Nero and his crew were imprisoned? Good thing they didn't try to dismantle it to study it or turn it into scrap.

They did park it near Rure Penter because it was highly prtected section of Klingon space. And they did try to dismantle it. Borg nano tech on the ship would prevented this and any type of reverse engineering.
Nero was tortured in order to to gain access to the inner workings of the ship.

Mix Tal Shiar booby traps with Borg Tech. I bet some of the processing systems in the Narada when she faced the Enterprise were assimilated Klingons.

:love

JJ Abrams: I quickly said that because of my loyalty to Star Trek, and also just being a fan, I wouldn’t even want to be involved in the next version of those things. I declined any involvement very early on. I’d rather be in the audience not knowing what was coming, rather than being involved in the minutiae of making them.

Well, this won't harm STID at all, will it? For JJ being such an outspoken fan of Star Wars, you think he'll do any of that "I'm only making this for movie fans" crap like he's doing with Star Trek? I can honestly feel the stark contrasts between his enjoyment from making Star Wars to his utter distancing from making Star Trek.

I wouldn't be disappointed to see someone else take the helm of New Trek. JJ did bring it back. Perhaps if he does leave to pursue the hotter chick, someone will do a better job.

Hopefully.

New Star Trek Spot During Superbowl

FYI:

That is all.

Wonder if the spot will showcase who Benedict is actually playing. Until they say John Harrison on screen, I'm not convinced that's his real name. But who knows, maybe it won't be his real name in the actual movie.

Since you wont be seeing the movie, we'll keep you posted on who John Harrison really is when the film comes out. :lol

Re: New Star Trek Spot During Superbowl

Because you've been very vocally critical about the first one and equally so about what's been shown so far about the sequel.

We're entitled to our informed opinions, not ignorant ones. Everything I've been talking about in regards to the sequel has either been what we've been told, and what we can speculate. My opinion on the final product has yet to be made because I haven't seen the movie. If I'm going to be critical, I'm going to have the decency to know what I'm being critical about. But if I choose not to see the movie, it will only be because I have no desire to talk about it. You think that Star Trek Into Darkness, a movie that takes place in one of my all time favorite franchises ever is something I don't want to talk about?

You guys are loonier than a box of hamdingers if you think I'm not going to give this movie a try. After all, I gave Prometheus a try even after knowing it was DoA after Ridley Scott said that the Space Jockey was just a 'suit'.

Re: New Star Trek Spot During Superbowl

Why would I not see the movie?

I think the first post in this thread answers that question -

Jeyl -"I'll try anything once, but not for $12. The only films that I've deliberately stayed away from supporting are Transformers and Twilight. I gave each of their first films a shot and was so proud I didn't dive into the followups."

Into darkness is indeed a followup, no?

:lol

For months you've you've made it clear that you do not need to see a movie to pass judgement on it.

Yep, and that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'm going to see Star Trek Into Darkness in theaters. Not in 3D and most likely during a Matinee. If you don't understand that than there's nothing more I can do for you.

Exactly.

So, if we started a petition to get you to NOT see it and therefore not speak about it, would that sway you?

No?

Alright, I'll keep ignoring these threads.

Considering you havent seen the film yet would mean your long spanning list of opinions are NOT informed.

lol, seems youve broken your own rule considering you passed judgement on the film for months and havent seen it yet.
